Виж онлайн участниците Директор: г-жа Александра Борисова Event format: Competition - online Meeting of the jury with the art directors and group leaders - online Festival tour – off-line (only for adult groups depending on covid situation) Purpose and objectives: The VII International Folklore Festival "Keeping traditions" (hereinafter Festival) is held with the aim to promote folk art, preserve the multi-national cultural heritage of Russia and develop public diplomacy through the establishment of cultural ties between nations. The festival is a place where folk talents from around the world meet each other to make friends and share their cultural experiences. The objectives of the festival: Identification and promotion of the best folk artists Improving the professional skills of group directors and teachers Development of friendship, mutual understanding and cultural cooperation between the creative teams of the Russian Federation and foreign countries Education of the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism and the formation of mutual respect for the cultural traditions and customs of other ethnic groups Attracting attention from government, public and international organizations to the problems of creative teams and performers Participants: Vocal, dance, instrumental groups, theaters, soloists, duets and small forms of any age are invited to participate in the festival. Both authentic or modern performances of folk dances and rituals, songs and music based on folk material from any region or any country are encouraged. Nominations: Choreography - folk dance, stylized folk dance, classical dance, modern dance, pop dance, ballroom dance, dance show (ensembles and soloists) Vocals - authentic, folk, folk in modern processing in any genre: classical academic singing, pop singing, jazz, etc. (choirs, vocal ensembles and soloists) Instrumental work (folk orchestras and ensembles of folk instruments, individual folk music performers) Theatrical work (miniature, excerpt from the play, theatrical performances and ceremonies, national epic, etude, solo performance) Artistic word (prose, poetry, legends, literary and musical composition) Fashion theaters (fashion theaters, fashion schools and studios, costume studios, creative houses and other creative associations demonstrating clothing models of all styles and trends, united by a common artistic concept, made by the participants themselves and / or professional fashion designers). Presentation of ethnographic, stage and historical costumes is encouraged. Age categories: Preschool: 4-6 y.o. Junior: 7-10 y.o. Medium: 11-14 y.o. Senior: 15-17 y.o. Youth: 18-30 y.o. Adult: 31 and older In each age group, participation of performers of a different age is allowed, but not more than 30% of the total number of a group. Program of performances: In the nominations “Vocals” (soloists), “Choreography”, “Artistic word” the contestants present 1 (one) work up to 5 minutes. In the nomination “Vocals” choirs and vocal ensembles present 2 songs of different characters up to 10 minutes total, one of which should be performed “a-capella”. It is not allowed to use a phonogram minus with pre-recored back-vocals. In the nomination “Theatrical work”, participants submit 1 work (miniature, excerpt from the play, theatrical performances, ceremonies, national epic, etude, solo performance) up to 10 minutes. Competition work must have a compositionally finished character! In the nomination “Fashion Theaters” participants submit 1 work up to 8 minutes. In the nomination “Theatrical Creativity” and “Fashion Theaters” nominees are not divided by age category. Video requirements: Both amateur and professional videos can participate. The shooting might be carried out on stage or home premises, as well as video from another competition or concert is allowed. Videos must be recorded without editing and any effects and posted on the You Tube channel. The participant must be in stage clothes. The faces, hands, feet of all participants in the video should be clearly visible. The video recording should be the original without using filters and other methods of correction. Sound reproduction should be high-quality, all the nuances of the performance should be clearly audible. By sending a link to the video, the participant automatically confirms his/her consent to the use of the material by third parties (organizers, jury members, other participants of the competition), as well as to post the video on the organizer’s website. The participant is responsible for complying with copyright laws and correctness of the materials provided. Filing an application means acceptance of this Regulation. The video file name must be made in the following form: City - Team – Name of the work. For example: Tula - Varvaryata - Russian dance. Evaluation criteria: Complexity and technique Artistic impression (image creation, content disclosure, emotions, artistry) Presentation (costume, props, stage direction, musical accompaniment, selection of repertoire, stage design) Jury: To assess competitive performances, a qualified jury composed of cultural and art experts, representatives of creative and public organizations of Russia and foreign countries is created. The list of jury members is not disclosed until the start of the festival. Chairman of the jury is entitled to 2 votes in the event of a dispute. The jury does not take into account the age, material standing, social class, nationality and place of residence of the contestants - only creativity on absolutely equal terms in accordance with this Regulation. The jury may decide to cancel the contest on one of the nominations or combine the age categories specified in this regulation due to the insufficient number of applications filed. The jury has the right to award not all prizes, to share prizes between performers, to present special prizes to teachers for outstanding achievements, to decide on the termination of performances that go beyond the rules. The jury's decision is final and non-negotiable. Awards: The accumulating of Awarding Foundation is entrusted to the Festival Organizing Committee. Any organization or individual can make charitable contributions to the festival and establish their special awards and prizes. In each category and age group winners are assigned to Laureates of I, II, III degrees, and a diploma winner. The number of laureates and diploma winners is not limited, since the contestants are evaluated according a qualification system. The Grand Prix is awarded to only one of the winners of the 1st Prize among children (under 18 years old) and one of the winners of the 1st Prize among adults (aged over 18), who will win the highest number of votes of jury members. Laureates and diploma winners are awarded with electronic diplomas. Laureates of the 1st degree are invited to participate in the prestigious International Award in the field of performing arts “Folk-Star” (9-13.12.2021, St. Petersburg). Grand Prix winners are nominated for participation in the International Award in the field of performing arts “Folk-Star” (9-13.12.2021, St. Petersburg) without paying the registration fee. A cash Prize is possible by the decision of the jury. At the discretion of the jury, the best groups and soloists are invited to participate in tours and folklore festivals in Russia and abroad on a free or preferential basis. Laureates of the festival may be granted by Certificates of the European Association of Folklore Festivals to participate in the European and World Championships of Folklore. The jury reserves the right not to award prizes and change the number of prizes. Each participating group is responsible for its own visa to Russia. Invitations for visa are available upon payment of 30% guarantee fee. The recommended arrival date for participating groups to St. Petersburg is March 10, 2021 by 2:00 PM (afternoon). The recommended departure date is March 14, 2021 by 12:00 (afternoon). Participants may extend their stay in St. Petersburg at an extra fee. Other terms: For participants wishing to visit Saint Petersburg or other tour sights, guided tours are organized upon preliminary requests. By their participation in the festival, collectives and soloists give their consent to the right to record their performances on audio/video and broadcast them on television channels or use by other means. Any group willing to participate must submit an Application form. Approved groups pay in advance a 10% guarantee fee, which is to be deducted at the final payment. As a next step, approved groups pay in advance a 30% guarantee fee, which is to be deducted at the final payment. In case of refusal to participate in the festival received after February 10, 2021 the guarantee fee is not refund. The Organizing Committee will send the bank details upon receiving the application form. Booking confirmation will be sent, if only the Organizing Committee receive guarantee fee.
