On this festive day, the IX International Folklore Festival "Keeping Traditions" will be held in the historical palace of the House of Officers in St. Petersburg. Festival days will last from April 29 to May 2, 2023. The participants of the festival will have time not only to perform at the competition, but also have the opportunity to admire the fountains of Peterhof, visit the Amber Room in the Catherine Palace, admire world masterpieces in the Hermitage, take a boat ride along the Neva river, have a look at the drawing of bridges or just enjoy walking along the marvelous streets of the most beautiful cities in the world. Festival venue: The Grand Concert Hall of the House of Officers (address: Liteiny prospect, 20) - 700 seats, stage 12x13 m Festival hotel: Hotel St. Petersburg**** (address: Pirogovskaya embankment, 5/2) Program: April 28 - Publishing of videos of online participants April 28 - May 1 Online voting for the People's Choice Award and evaluation by Jury April 29 - Arrival of participants April 30 - Excursions by reservations May 1 - Competitive concert. Gala Concert. Rewarding May 2 - Departure of participants May 3 - Publishing the results May 3-10 - Sending personal diplomas Conditions: Children, youth and adult dance ensembles, choral groups, vocal ensembles and soloists, instrumental groups, as well as performers of other creative genres are invited to participate in the festival. The age of the participants is 5 years and older. Applicants are admitted to the festival after paying the festival fee. Each participant along with the application has to submit: 1 good quality photo 1 video Information about the team Group list (group list form will be provided upon request) Accommodation: The groups will stay at hotel "Saint Petersburg" **** Room category: Standard Double/ Twin The hotel "Saint Petersburg" **** has the best panoramic view of the Neva and the cruiser "Aurora". There are new SPA and a swimming pool. Meals: 3 meals daily (Full Board): breakfast buffet, lunch & dinner set menu. All meals are served in the panoramic restaurant. Nominations: Vocal: (academic, folk, pop, jazz) Choirs: (academic, folk) Theatrical creativity: (art word, author's poem, musical performance, dramatic performance, puppet theatre) Instrumental creativity: (classical music, folk music, pop music, jazz music) Folklore: (song folklore, theatrical folklore performance) Fashion Theater: (national costume, pret-a-porte, evening collection, historical costume, modern suit, fantasy collections) Choreography: (folk, folk-stylized, modern, variety, children's story-game dance, contemporary, dance theater, dance show) Performance program: Groups prepare 2 different programmes: 1 competition piece up to 4 minutes and 1 performance for gala up to 6 minutes. The duration of the soloist's performance - max 4 minutes. Folk dances and rituals, songs and music based on the folk material of any region or any country, both in authentic performance and in modern processing are most welcomed. Awarding: The Grand Prix is awarded to the Best Children's Performer and the Best Adult Performer with the most votes from the Jury members. Grand Prix winners will receive a Certificate to participate in the III International Prize in the field of performing arts "Folk-Star" (online) without paying a festival fee. In each nomination and age category, the titles of laureates of I, II, III degrees, as well as the titles of diplomats of I, II, III degrees are awarded. Laureates are awarded with cups and diplomas. Diploma winners are awarded diplomas. Participation fee: 310 Euro per person for 3 FB (Full Board) Every 16th is free! (15+1) Participation fee includes: DBL/ TWIN accommodation in hotel 4* 3 meals daily (buffet breakfast, lunch & dinner set menu). Arrival day will start by dinner, departure day buffet breakfast will be served. All travel expenses to St. Petersburg and back are borne by the participants of the festival or the delegating organizations. The recommended date of arrival at St.Petersburg is April 29. Departure date is May 2. Check-in time: 14:00 (2 PM), check-out: 12:00 (12:00 AM). Guests can extend their stay for an additional fee. Optional excursions or tailor-made tours available upon request at an additional fee. Any group willing to participate must submit an Application form. Approved groups pay in advance a 10% guarantee fee, which is to be deducted at the final payment. As a next step: Registration to the festival and booking will be made after 30% prepayment is made to the Organizer's account. If the festival fee is paid by an organization, you must provide details of the legal entity. Full payment for the festival accommodation package is due by April 10, 2023. In case of refusal to participate in the festival 14 days before the start or non-attendance, a penalty of 93 euro per person will be charged.
