VI World Folk Dance Competition “New Life 2018” will be held with the organization «KVALI NATELI XXI». And also with the support of the board European Association of Folklore Festivals - EAFF and Municipality of Batumi.
 
There is no doubt that the VI World Folk Dance Competition “New Life 2018” will be held from mental friendliness, and the Commonwealth. Together, we give the main goal of the contest - let's promote themselves collectives in the arts - for presentation - promotion of titanic achievement. Support not only different parts of Georgia, but also will promote and make friends with people of the world,  will develop and present to the people the rare examples of art.
 
Welcome to Georgia.
Georgia - "the country of St. George ", intoxicated by the sun, filled with light, dancing, singing, proud, loving and in love... Georgia! Greetings, a country of elegance and sadness... A country of natural artistry and an eternal feast, sparkling temperament, warmth, vivid emotions, unrivaled hospitality and unforgettable impressions. the country is known for its hospitality - "Guest - the messenger of God" - reads the Georgian proverb. Over the centuries, the Georgian people composed their traditions of hospitality. From generation to generation, love and unlimited respect for the guest, devotion to the duties of the host, traditional feast were transmitted. According to Georgian folk poetry, hospitality is valued more than courage, courage and skillful possession of weapons. Georgian folklore idealizes the hospitable, generous master, censures the stingy. A country that falls in love with everyone who visited it at least once!
 
Region of Adjara
One of the most beautiful regions in Georgia, Ajara is situated in southwest Georgia on the Black Sea coastline. Ajara operates as an autonomous republic in Georgia and has its own flag and coat of arms. Turkey borders Ajara to the south.
Christianity started to spread throughout Georgia in the 1st cent. AD from Ajara, and it became the state religion in the 4th cent. AD. The apostles Andrew and Simon preached in Georgia. According to some sources, Matthew the Apostle was buried in Ajara in Gonio. Gionio-Apsaros fortress is also associated with famous mythos about Argonauts, who landed here to find Golden Fleece.
Batumi - the "Pearl of the Black Sea" as it is often called - is administrative centre of Ajara. European architects undertook numerous projects in Batumi at the beginning of the 20th cent. Today, Batumi is still a place of numerous architectural innovations. Ajara's visitors especially admire the region's pristine and unaltered nature. The region is particularly intriguing for eco tourists.
The coastline of Ajara is a favorite destination among tourists visiting Georgia and is famous for its numerous resort areas. Ajara's coastline resorts are located within the municipalities of Kobuleti.
 
City Kobuleti
Climatic resort Kobuleti is located on the Black Sea coast, north-west of Batumi, at a height of 5 meters above sea level. The main attraction of the city of Kobuleti, the famous beach of small pebbles. The climate is subtropical, the summers are hot. Sea bathing season - from May to October. Kobuleti is known for its one of the longest streets of the Black Sea coast, which is lined with hotels of different levels of service and beaches. Most of the beaches Kobuleti sand or small pebbles.
 
City Batumi
Batumi is one of the most distinguished tourist destinations on the Black Sea. Batumi's juxtaposition of ancient and modern architecture, its historical port, serene botanical garden, Seaside Boulevard, European squares and streets - not to mention its world-class hotels, restaurants, cafes and bars - make up the face of modern Georgia.
It is important to note that in 2012 American Academy of Hospitality Sciences nominated Batumi as the best tourist destination of the year.
In the second half of the 20th century European architects flocked to Batumi and designed numerous unique architectural designs. Development of Batumi was closely connected with the global economic and industrial development. During this period Nobel Brothers and Rothschild family started their commercial activities (businesses) in Batumi.

Participants in the festival:

  • Children's, youth and adult creative groups, and little form (with two or three numbers), all genres and directions from Georgia and other countries of the world.
  • Age and number of participants is unlimited.
* In the program of the festival-contest: competitive performances in nominations, master classes, entertaining and extensive excursion program on the most interesting places of Georgia.

Goals and objectives of the festival competition:

  • Cultural exchange between Georgia and other countries of the world;
  • Creation of additional conditions and search for new forms of synthesis of various arts: literature, music, choreography, vocal, fine arts and others within the framework of the festival-contest program;
  • Popularization of culture, ideas of humanism and continuity of generations through comprehensive creative development of the individual;
  • Uniting, preserving and developing national cultures, creating an atmosphere of respect for the historical heritage and cultural values ​​of different countries in the creative process;
  • Attracting leading figures of culture and art to cooperation with creative teams;
  • Increase of professional skill and qualification of heads of creative collectives;
  • Exchange of experience and achievements in the field of theatrical creativity of representatives of various theatrical schools and national traditions;
  • Creation of environment and conditions for creative communication, establishment of creative contacts and development of friendly relations between collectives and between team leaders;
  • Education of artistic taste and familiarizing young performers with the best examples of culture and art;
  • Identification of talented gifted youth and promotion of its creative growth;
  • Stimulation and development of children's, youth and adult creativity;
  • Creation of an atmosphere of a creative holiday.

Organizational and technical requirements for the competitive program:

  • Collectives of instrumental, vocal and dance genres represent from 2 to 3 different numbers in one nomination, with a total duration of no more than 6 minutes.
  • The phonogram should be presented on USB Flash Card or CD-R in audio format.
  • MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: Each team must have a spare audio record on the USB Flash Card. The USB Flash Card should not contain any files other than the contest program.
  • In the nomination of vocal, the contest works are performed only under the "minus" phonogram (the "back-vocal" is allowed only in the chorus). The performance of vocalists in the competition program is not allowed under the phonogram "plus".
  • The organizing committee prepares and conducts the festival-competition. The order of the performance is determined by the organizing committee in advance, performances are conducted by both blocks and separate numbers.
  • The Organizing Committee reserves the right to amend the rules of the competition.
  • The contest is applied not competition, but the qualification principle of the evaluation of the competitive program.
  • Any violation of the rules of the competition entails a loss of points in assessing the performance of the team.
  • Jury decisions are not subject to appeal.
  • The Organizing Committee is not responsible for the evaluation of the jury members and the awarding of the title to the participants!
  • The contest program is evaluated by the jury in each nomination, taking into account the age of the performers indicated in the applications.

Prizes and awards:

  • The absolute winner receives the prize "New Life 2018" - the Grand Prix, the Gold Prize, the medal and the diploma of the absolute winner of the World Folk Dance Competition for 2018, receives.
  • The results of the competition and awards are held on nominations separately, taking into account age categories and provide for the awarding of special diplomas and other prizes taking into account the nominations of the winner of the Grand Prix, laureates and diplomats of I, II, III degrees, festival participants. The number of prize diplomas is not limited and depends solely on the level of the program presented by the contestants.

The jury

The jury consists of three members. The world-class choreographer stars will judge the competition. After the competition, jury will evaluate and identify the winners.

Evaluation criteria:

  • The jury evaluates the performance by closed voting, according to the following criteria: performing skills;
  • Artistic expressiveness of the number (composition, content and musical unity of the artistic image);
  • Entertainment (plastic, costume, performance culture);
  • Performing fervor and originality;
  • Artistry, disclosure of the artistic image, selection and correspondence of the repertoire to the age characteristics of performers, evaluation of the auditorium.
*Concerts will be held on the stage of the Summer Theater in Batumi, Georgia.
The organizers reserve the right to make changes to the championship program.

Preliminary program:

Day I – 28 June
  • Arrival at the airport in Tbilisi or Batumi or Kutaisi. Pick-up vehicles. Departure from the airport to the hotel direction (traveling time from Tbilisi to Kobuleti is five hours), staying at a hotel.
  • Dinner at the hotel.
Day II – 29 June
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Conference at 12:00 - meet with the ensemble managers and get acquainted detailed program by the festival organizers.
  • Lunch at the hotel.
  • After lunch sightseeing - Batumi sightseeing (Alphabet, Old Boulevard, Piazza, St. Nikolozi Church, "Medea" sculpture), a night in Batumi, a dancing fountain.
  • Return to the hotel dinner.
Day III – 30 June
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Open festival, competition performance.
  • Lunch at the hotel.
  • Continuation of the competition after lunch.
  • Return to the hotel dinner.
Day IV – 01 July
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Continuation of the competition after breakfast.
  • Lunch at the hotel.
  • Closing Ceremony (Gala Concert) will start at 18:00.
  • Awards ceremony at 20:00.
  • Return to the hotel, dinner.
Day V – 02 July
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Free time, bathe in the sea (We can arrange an optional excursion according to your desire).
  • Lunch at the hotel.
  • Free time, bathe in the sea.
  • Return to the hotel dinner.
Day VI – 03 July
  • Breakfast at 08:00.
  • Farewell and leave the direction of the airport at 12:00.

Participation fee: 

  • 240 Euro per person for accommodation in 3*** hotel
  • 540 Euro per person for accommodation in 4 +**** 

Participation fee includes:

  1. Transfer - from the airport to the hotel and back to the airport.
  2. All transport service - escort from the hotel to the concert hall and back to the hotel, during the fest.
  3. Transport - bus or micro bus, comfortable.
  4. Transport service during the excursion.
  5. Organizational fee for the main nomination of the group.
  6. Accommodation hotel in Kobuleti 5 nights (3x - 4 bed accommodation, facilities in the rooms - 3 *** hotel).
  7. On a group of at least 20 people, one double room - no extra charge.
  8. Free place for the leader according to the scheme 20 + 1.
  9. Three meals a day – FB.
  10. Sightseeing tour of Batumi.
  11. Diplomas for all participants of the festival.

Participation fee does not include:

  • Air tickets;
  • Extra night in the hotel;
  • Extra charge for a double room is 10 EUR (for 3 *** hotels) per person per day.
  • Extra charge for a single room is 20 EUR (for 3 *** hotels) per person per day.
  • Extra charge for additional night stay at the hotel up to 14 years - 30 EUR, over 14 years - 35 EUR.
  • 2-bed and 1-bed accommodation on request. Limited number of seats;
  • Soloists additionally pay the organizational fee to the basic cost of the program 50 EUR.
  • "Small forms" (up to 5 persons inclusive) additionally pay an organizational fee to the basic cost of the program 20 EUR / person;
  • Additional excursions can be organized in Kutaisi, Upper Adjara, Borjomi and other places in Georgia at your request.
  • If you wish, you can organize a Georgian feast with Georgian songs and dances.
 If the ensemble comes to their own transport, the organizer of the festival provides the fuel on the in place.
 
Any group willing to participate must submit an Application form.
Approved groups pay in advance a 10% guarantee fee, which is to be deducted at the final payment.
