Director: Jorge Tapia Claure Welcome to the Baltimore International Folklore Festival, the festival organized by the Imanay Cultural Foundation, has as its main objective to create an annual intercultural space where participants have the opportunity to meet, share and enjoy the rich folkloric and enlightened culture of the participating countries and interact with the local public that, being one of the most emblematic cities in the world, has a cultural diversity from all countries of the world. The most outstanding feature of Baltimore is that it is a city with great diversity. This makes it a fabulous destination for all types of tourists. When you visit Baltimore, you will be able to see many emblematic buildings with historical and architectural finishes that will fascinate you and without a doubt, you will be able to make your next vacation the best vacation of your life. The city of Baltimore, located in the state of Maryland, located 45 minutes from Washington DC, is one of the most important cities in the United States, not only because some of the most powerful and paramount business, but also the relevance of the history of the USA. Brief history of Baltimore: Baltimore is the most populous city in the U.S. state of Maryland. It is located in the center of the state, along the Patapsco River, which flows into the Chesapeake Bay. Founded in 1729, it is an important port center, the closest on the Eastern Shore to the markets of the Midwest, and formerly the second largest port of entry for immigrants to the United States and a major manufacturing center. After the downfall of manufacturing, Baltimore's economy shifted to the service sector. Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Hospital account for the largest number of workers in the city. In 2023, Baltimore's population was 565, 239, while the Baltimore Metropolitan Area was 2 668,056, the 20th largest population in the country. The joined statistical area associated with Baltimore has around 8.3 million inhabitants. The city of Baltimore is nominated due to Lord Baltimore, who was one of the Irish House Lords and founder of the British colony of Maryland. Participants of the Festival: Ballet groups Ensembles folkloric dancers Fraternities and sororities International folkloric dance workshops Age categories: Groups of children and adults can participate in the festival with NO age limit. Requirements to participate in the festival: For the Festival, participants must perform two or three dances accompanied either with their own music or live band (max. 15 minutes). Fourteen days previous the competition, participants must send the music to be performed in a high-quality digital format. The Organizing Committee protects the owner copyrights. Thereby, avoid using or distributing audios, video clips and other types of productions produced during the activities of the festival are protected by our organization. Participating member’s group are under the responsibility of the directors of each group during the festival performance. Prizes and awards of the festival: All contest participants receive International Diplomas and a plaque as a recognition of participation to each group for their performance in this festival. Participation fee: The registration fee is 100.00 USD/EUR for each participating group (Non-Refundable). After making this payment, each group receives the official invitation to the event. Four-bedroom Booking - 300 USD/EUR per person (room with 2 double beds) Double bedroom Booking - 350 USD/EUR per person Single bedroom Booking - 480 USD/EUR per person The participation fee includes: 2/3 stars hotel stay in single, double, quadruple rooms (3 nights/ 4 days). Hotels are located within 30 km of Baltimore Downtown. The stay period includes breakfast and dinner. Drinks can be ordered for an additional fee. Participation fee does not include: Sponsorship of any VISA status. Medical insurance. Excursions to Washington DC or others touristic places. Transportation expenses (Airport Transfers – hotel and viceverse). Note: If participating groups desire to request those services, we can arrange a transfer for an additional fee. In addition, if some group members come separately from their group, then they must pay separately as well. Program: Day 1 - Arrival in Washington. Transfer to the hotels, where participants will receive badges and depending on each schedule adjustment each participant might have an opportunity to meet with all the festival organizers and enjoy the surrounding touristic places of the city for whose are registered within a tourist package service or for whose would like to enjoy the best attractive places of the city on their own. Day 2 - Breakfast. Free day. Dinner and evening welcome to all the participants of the festival. Day 3 - Breakfast. Free time. At 7 pm: Gala concert and solemn awarding of prizes to all participants. Dinner at 10:00 pm. Day 4 - Breakfast. Departure (Room Check out at 11 am). Transfer to the airport. * The program can be changed. Any group, willing to participate, must submit an Application form. Approved groups pay in advance a 10% guarantee fee, which is to be deducted at the final payment. Next payment: Each participating group must pay 20% of the participation fee. The remaining balance of 70% must be paid by 31 August 2025.
