Agrinio is a city with a population of 100,000 people. It is located in western Greece, about 30 km from the sea. It is a commercial center of the region. Agrinio is near the largest lake in Greece, Lake Trichonida, and the largest Greek river, Acheloos.

Conditions for participation:

  • Each group must consist of no more than 30 people.
  • The age of dancers must be between 15 and 50 years.
  • Each group must present traditional dances and performances representing their country, wearing appropriate traditional costumes, accompanied by live traditional music or music on CD.
  • All groups will be accommodated in senior centers or new schools.
  • We, the organizers, will cover accommodation and two meals per day for each group.
  • During the festival, you can visit archaeological sites near Agrinio and also enjoy nearby beaches for swimming. Recommended beaches: Lefkada, Nafpaktos, Mesolongi.
  • Please inform us if your country also organizes a folklore festival, so we can exchange experiences with our Greek folk group.
  • Please respond and at the same time send us a description of your group with a short report on your activities (in English), a few photos, and clips of your performances.
  • The transportation of all groups within our municipality will be covered by us (fuel cost: 300 Euro) as well as transport to and from Athens Airport.
  • Each group must bring their national flag.
  • Each group is responsible for its own insurance, including medical (except for first aid).
  • Once you are selected to participate in our festival, you will receive an official invitation. The festival director is Mr. Babis Tsiamis.

Participation fee:

  • 55 Euro per person

* The organizers reserve the right to make changes to the rules and conditions of the Festival.

Any group, willing to participate, must submit an Application form.  
Approved groups pay in advance a 10% guarantee fee, which is to be deducted at the final payment.
