Purwakarta is a city in the West Java province of Indonesia and the capital of the Purwakarta Regency. Purwakarta's existence is inseparable from the history of the struggle against the forces of the Dutch East India Company (Dutch: Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie, VOC, "United East India Company"). Around the beginning of the 17th century Sultan Mataram sent an army led by the Regent of Surabaya and West Java. One aim is to subdue the Sultan of Banten. But in a way that clashed with VOC forces had to withdraw.

Purpose of the festival:

In Anniversary of Purwakarta, Department of Transportation, Culture, Tourism, Post and Telecommunications will held an international cultural events: Purwakarta World Culture Festival 2015 as a cultural diplomacy between countries, and a forum for artists worldwide. The event itself focuses on a traditional cultural performance, city tour and a cultural carnival presented by artist from Indonesia and other nine countries. The event is not only present the harmony in diversity, it also create an opportunity for the artists and the audience to have the cultural spirit among each other worldwide.

Participants in the festival:

Purwakarta World Culture Festival has proposed to cordially invite:
  • A young generation of traditional cultural group to performs in the main stage of Purwakarta World Culture Festival 2015 (Preforms max 15 minutes)
  • Also to be participants on a City Tour in Purwakarta
  • And on a Cultural Carnival (All participants will do carnival followed with other countries with their own culture identity)

Program of the festival:

August 25th, 2015 - ARRIVAL
Information: All representative will arrived at Soekarno Hatta Airport, Jakarta then straight to Purwakarta by bus
THE MAIN SHOW

Information: Indonesian and 9 other countries will perform the traditional dance/music
for max 15mins
CITY TOUR

Information: All representatives will be send to Soekarno Hatta Airport, Jakarta.
 

Participation includes:

The facilities for the all invited participants:
  • Full accommodations for six days in the duration from arrival to departure ( among August 25th to August 30th , 2015 )
  • Including return airplane tickets,
  • VISA,
  • hotel accommodation,
  • 3 meals a day,
  • travel insurance
  • transportation (from airport in Jakarta to Purwakarta, and in the area of Purwakarta)
