"Once I close my eyes – you stand in front of me. Once I open my eyes - you float under my eyelashes" - it could be love confessions to the ancient, proud, hospitable, free Georgia. This country is known for its legendary hospitality, rugged beauty of mountain temples, unique dancing culture and unforgettable polyphony.

You can endlessly talk about beauties of Georgia, but you will never get to know this country in one trip, you may just get acquainted with Georgia. But this acquaintance will leave an indelibly-beautiful mark in your heart and all these memories about Georgia will beckon you to come back. That is why Fiestalonia with the support of the Mayor of Tbilisi is organizing an unforgettable festival-contest: Fiestalonia Georgia!

International competitions, held under the brand Fiestalonia, contribute to the preservation and a popularization of national traditions, ethnic culture of different nationalities and the strengthening of international relations.

The main purpose of the festivals and contests that we organize is to provide a fair competition among creative groups and individual performers from all over the world along with the demonstration of art to the audience and also experience exchange among the group heads.

Nominations:

GROUP (А) — instrumental music (soloists, ensembles, orchestras)
  • Piano solo, piano ensembles for one instrument (two instruments in one program are not allowed);
  • Academic stringed and stringed bowed instruments (violin, alto, violoncello, contrabass etc.);
  • Folk instruments: accordion, bayan, stringed bowed, stringed and plucked instruments, stringed drums instruments etc.;
  • Wind instrument;
  • Guitar.
Technical requirements for group A:
  • Soloists, duets and small groups present one competitive composition, groups from 5 persons present one or two competitive compositions not longer than 5 minutes each other;
  • Once declared program should not be changed. It should comply the performing at the contests concert;
  • Performances under the phonogram are not allowed;
  • There is no any restriction on the participant’s status (for example: music school, music academy, music college, conservatory, amateurs or private tuition). Professionals and amateurs are measured at different categories.
GROUP (B1) — Choir’s singing. B1.1. mixed; B1.2. Half mixed/chamber choirs; B1.3. Homogeneous choirs; B1.4. Children.
  • Academic singing
  • Folk singing;
  • Folklore (authentic) singing;
  • Pop singing;
  • Jazz singing;
  • Gospel.
Technical requirements for group B1:
  • One or two own choice composition with the accompaniment or a cappella not longer than 5 minutes each other.
GROUP (B2) – singing (ensembles, soloists, duet, trio, quartet, quintet)
  • Academic singing;
  • Folk singing;
  • Folk (authentic) singing;
  • Jazz singing;
  • Pop Singing.
Technical requirements group B2:
  • Soloists, duets and small groups present one competitive composition, groups from 5 persons present one or two competitive compositions not longer than 5 minutes each other.
  • The composition, which characterizes abilities of the performer.
  • All the compositions should be recorded on USB flash drive in MP3 format.
  • It’s obligatory to indicate soloists, duets and small groups of 3-5 persons.
GROUP (С) – Choreographic groups and soloists
  • Classical dance;
  • Folk choreography, folk-stylized dance, ethnic dances;
  • Ballroom dance;
  • Ballet dance;
  • Sport dance (hip-hop, disco, techno, street, electric boogie, break dance, pop locking and other street styles);
  • Modern dances (jazz, modern, neoclassic etc.);
  • Variety dance;
  • Oriental dance;
  • Children dances;
  • Street dance;
  • Social dance (argentine tango, balboa, bachata, boogie-voogie, waltz west coast swing, zoom, Irish network dance, country, lindy-hop, merengue, reggaeton, rueda, salsa, samba, samba de gaffiyera, forro, hastl and etc.)
Technical requirements group C:
  • Soloists, duets and small groups present one competitive composition, groups from 5 persons present one or two competitive compositions not longer than 5 minutes each other.
  • All the compositions should be recorded on USB flash drive in MP3 format.
  • In the application it’s necessary to specify if the layout of performances is needed or if the work will be executed by one set.
  • It’s obligatory to indicate soloists, duets and small groups of 3-5 persons.
  • There is no any restriction on the participant’s status (for example: ballet school, dance academy, dance college, amateurs etc.)

Jury:

The jury of the contest is formed of the most important choreographers and cultural workers. International jury is formed by the contest’s providers. Participation in the gala concert isn’t guaranteed for everyone and is confirmed due to the results of the previous shows according to the consolidated legislative decision of the contest providers and the judges.

The jury has the right:
  • not to award all the prizes; 
  • to share prize among performers;
  • to award special prizes to teachers for outstanding achievements;
  • to make a decision about breaking a performance which exceeds the bounds of the regulations;

The jury evaluates the participants on one hundred-point system, the final result is made up of the average quantity of the received scores and the average value of the progress scores.

The jury’s decisions are final and are not subject to review.

Evaluation criteria:

GROUP (А) – instrumental groups and soloists
  • degree of the complexity of the repertoire;
  • degree of virtuosity and technical capability;
  • scenic culture, artistic skill, posture.
GROUP (B1 & B2) – singing (choirs, ensembles, duets, trios, soloists)
  • purity of the intonation and quality of sound;
  • beauty of the timbre and the voice strength;
  • scenic culture, artistic skill;
  • mastery – technique of movements’ execution.
GROUP (С) – choreographic groups and soloists
  • mastery – technique of movements’ execution;
  • compositional creation of the performance;
  • suitability for the theatre (flexibility, costume, properties, performing standards);
  • choice and correspondence of the musical and choreographic materials;
  • artistic skills, disclosure of an artistic image.

Prizes:

The jury evaluates the participants on 100-point scale. Regarding the genres of performing and nominations the awards are distributed due to seven age groups:

  • participants who received up to 70 points become prize winners (copper diploma);
  • participants who received from 70 to 79 points – prize winners of the third degree (bronze diploma);
  • participants who received from 80 to 89 points become prize winners of the second degree (silver diploma);
  • participants who received from 90 to 99 points become prize winners of the first degree (gold diploma);
  • participants who received 100 points become winners of the grand prize of the contest “Fiestalonia-Georgia” (platinum diploma).
Each group participant is given a nominal diploma from the founders and providers of the contest. Ensembles, soloists, duets and small groups – winners of the first prizes get from the Spanish authorities an additional diploma in the form of engraving on a special base. The Grand prize winners are given the nominal diploma and personalized trophy cups FIESTALONIA. Each team head, teacher and sponsor will be given thank-you letters on the letterhead of the kingdom of Spain. The directors of the groups will get an international certificate of passing the master classes. We have established special award of the president of Fiestalonia Milenio – a free participation in the international contests in Spain, Italy and France.

Program:

1st day
Arrival of the participants, meeting in the airport, transfer, accommodation in the hotel, check in to a hotel (from 14:00).

2nd day
15:00 – Press conference;
16:00 – Presentation of international festivals committee Fiestalonia (Spain).
17:00 – Registration of the participants;

3rd day
09:00 – Beginning of the contest in the A, B1 categories.
16:00 – For choirs and vocals – a master class on Georgian polyphony from the leading Georgian experts;

For the participants of the B2 category: excursion around Tbilisi is included into the price – cableway to the fortress Narikala, from where opens a magnificent view on the Tbilisi. Modern glass bridge of the piece (Italian architect Michele De Lucchi) this bridge is a symbol of modern Georgia. Walk along the street Sharden. Walk to the famous square near the theatre of marionette of Rezo Gabriadze. Excurcion to the most ancient temple of Tbilisi — Anchiskhati VI century, also we will visit Sioni temple of XII century, it houses the main shrine of Georgia.

It is also possible to make another tour for an additional charge. For an extra payment you may visit the ancient capital of Georgia Mtskheta, where you will see monastery temple of the VI century Dzhvari (UNESCO heritage) and the temple Svetitskhoveli the XI century, where was buried the Shroud of Christ.

4th day
09:00 – The contests review of the vocal and choreography (Groups B2 and C).
16:00 – For dancers – workshops on traditional Georgian choreography of the leading choreographers of Georgia;

For the participants of the A and B1 categories excursion around Tbilisi is included into the price – cableway to the fortress Narikala, from where opens a magnificent view on the Tbilisi. 5th day
09:00 – Grabbing video of all participants;
16:00 – Rehearsal;
19:00 – Gala concert and giving out of the awards to the participants.

6th day
– check out from the hotel at 10:00.

ATTENTION! We can provide you with a transfer from airports and train stations to the hotel and back. 
ATTENTION! Organizers have opportunity to modify the program.

Participation fee:

  • accommodation in a double room €270 /person – extra day €35/person;
  • accommodation in a triple room €255 /person – extra day €29/person;
  • accommodation in a quadruple room €235 /person – extra day €22/person;
soloists pay extra €50.
duets pay extra €40 for a duet.
small groups of 3-5 persons pay extra €30 for a group.
For participating in each additional nomination – extra charge €15 per person.

Participation fee includes:

  • 6 days and 5 nights in a hotel;
  • Breakfast and supper;
  • Transfer hotel – place of performing – hotel;
  • Excursion around Tbilisi with the guide;
  • Master classes (the themes will be determined latter);
  • Program of the contest;
  • Gala Concert with an award ceremony.

Prices without the accommodation (ONLY for local participants from Georgia):

  • Soloists – €50.
  • Duets – €35 for a duet.
  • Small groups of 3-5 persons – €30 for a group.
  • Groups 5-9 persons  –  €25/ person.
  • Groups 10-15 persons – €20/ person, if the group includes more than 15 persons, each next person pays 15€.
* If the groups/participants want to take part in the additional nomination they have to pay extra charges.
* If the application is filed to participate in more than one nomination it must be paid as an extra participation.

Extra trips:

  • Mtskheta Dzhvari €24,5/person;
  • Kakhetiya (Bodbe-Signakhi) €29,5/person;
  • Borzhomi-Rabat €36/ person.
Any group willing to participate must submit an Application form.
Approved groups pay in advance a 10% guarantee fee, which is to be deducted at the final payment.
