Moscow is the heart of Russia. It was founded in 1147 by Yuri Dolgoruky. The heart of Moscow is Red Square. The Kremlin and St. Basil's Cathedral are masterpieces of ancient Russian architecture. The main Kremlin tower, the Spasskaya Tower, has become the symbol of the country. On the territory of Kremlin you can see old cathedrals, the Bell Tower, the Palace of Congress, the Tzar-Cannon and the Tzar-Bell, the biggest cannon and bell in the world. St. Basil's Cathedral was built in the mid-16th century in memory of the victory over Kazan.
Moscow is very huge: more than 40 km from north to south, more than 30 from east to west. It is the largest city in the world. Including the suburbs, it has more than 12 million inhabitants. Moscow is so popular that every day there are more than one million visitors here. Besides, Moscow never sleeps. You are most welcome to visit this amazing city and meet your folk friends in Moscow!

General info:

  • The International music and dance festival “Friends in Moscow” (hereinafter Festival) is held to promote folk art and to present the cultural traditions of different countries and nations. The festival maintains intercultural dialogue between participants from all over the world, helps to establish friendship and peace through dance and music.
  • We invite children, youth and adult folklore dance groups, choral groups, vocal ensembles, instrumental groups as well as groups from other art styles.
  • Though the International music and dance festival “Friends in Moscow” is a non - competitive festival, the performances, made by the participating groups, will be discussed by art-directors and experts. Thus, “The Gran-Prix” and Laureate’s degree will be awarded by choice of international experts.
  • Each participating group will be awarded an Honorary Diploma and a festival souvenir.
  • Ensembles should perform from 6 to 20 minutes with live music or CD/USB. The performances will be in the evening hours so you can plan the day ahead and use it for visiting Moscow.
  • The participating group should be ready to teach traditional folkdance, music or folkgame to the festival participants during workshop. The whole session lasts up to 45 minutes.
  • The participating group should be responsible for its own properties, which refer to the personal belongings, music instruments, performing costume and related performing pops.
  • All participants of the festival live in the park-hotel "Olympiets" ***. The hotel is located on the bank of the Klyazma River. The hotel has an indoor sport pool, a sauna, a gym, pavilions for barbeque, horse-riding, paintball, a football field, a shooting gallery and many other entertainments to relax in the beautiful picturesque green area.

Participation fee:

  • Festival fee is 168 euro per person

Participation fee includes:

  • 3 nights’ accommodation in TRPL rooms with all amenities. Each room has its own shower.
  • Full board (set-menu)
  • Moscow city sightseeing guided tour by bus (Red Square, Arbat street, Vorobyevy hills).
  • Transportation to the concert venues
  • Swimming-pool (1 hour each day) for 3 days
  • Festival souvenirs and diplomas
  • Organizational expenses
  • On every 21 participants, one member (group leader) is free of charge.
  • Participation fee doesn’t include price of escort by a coach from airport to the hotel and back. The transfer fee will be billed individually depending on the size of a group, time of arrival and location of a terminal.
  • For double rooms there is a supplement of 14 € per person per day, for single room 23 € per person per day.
  • Approved groups pay in advance a 30% guarantee fee, which is to be deducted at the final payment.
  • In case of refusal to participate in the festival the guarantee fee is not refund. The Organizing Committee will send the bank details upon receiving the application form.
Travel expenses:
  • Every participant should cover the expense of the international flight to and from Moscow.
  • Every participant of the festival must have Travel Insurance to cover medical and accidental coverage during the period of the festival.
  • Each participating group is responsible for its own visa to Russia.
  • The date of arrival for participating groups to Moscow is August 14, 2018 preferably to Sheremetyevo airport.
  • The departure date from Moscow is August 18, 2018.
  • Participants may extend their stay in Moscow at an extra fee.

20:00 Opening of the “Friends in Moscow” festival. Festival night “Meet friends”. Presentation of groups with performances. Disco night.
August 15
07:45-08:45 Breakfast.
9:00 Depart hotel for Moscow city sightseeing tour (Vorobyevy Hills, Stalin’s skyscrapers, Arbat street, Red Square). 13:00 Transfer to hotel. 
15:00-16:00 Lunch.
18:00 Gala concert.
20:00-21:00 Dinner.
August 16
08:00-09:00 Breakfast. Free time or optional tours.
14:00-15:00 Lunch.
17:00 Workshops on folk dances, songs and music.
19:00-20:00 Dinner.
20:00 The farewell party. Competition “Miss&Mister festival”. Rewarding with diplomas and gift-exchange. Disco night.
August 17
08:00-09:00 Breakfast. Check out. Departure of the participants.
To participate in the Festival, please send us the following documents:
  • Application form 
  • A brief summary of the ensemble (no more than 10 lines)
  • Repertoire 
  • Group list verified by a group leader 
  • A scanned copy of the international passports of the participants
  • 2 photos of your group of good quality (the minimum size of photos - 2 MB in jpeg)
Please note kindly the number of participants is limited. The deadline for applications is May 30, 2018. This year we will accept one group from each country on first come, first served base
Any group willing to participate must submit an Application form.
Approved groups pay in advance a 10% guarantee fee, which is to be deducted at the final payment.
