International Folklore Festival in Bar - Petrovac, Montenegro, 21 - 25 August 2026

Bar - Petrovac is one of Montenegro’s most captivating coastal regions, combining rich history, scenic landscapes, and a vibrant Mediterranean spirit.
Bar, a picturesque seaport town in southern Montenegro, serves as both a tourism hub and the center of the Bar Municipality. The area is known for its stunning beaches, lush greenery, and preserved natural environment - ideal for leisure, hiking, and cultural exploration.
Nearby destinations such as Sutomore, Čanj, and Dobra Voda are famous for their long sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters, attracting visitors from around the world.
Petrovac, located between Budva and Bar, features a 600-meter sandy beach and offers a tranquil resort atmosphere, perfect for those seeking relaxation away from the busier tourist centers.

Festival conditions:

  • Open to Choirs, Orchestras, Folklore, and Modern Dance Groups from all countries
  • No age limits
  • Participation diplomas and commemorative gifts provided by the organizer
  • Parades and performance events included

To participate, groups must submit an application form and the advance payment, after which an official invitation letter will be issued.

Participant requirements:

  • Each group should include dancers, musicians, managers, and assistants
  • Prepare a performance of 10–12 minutes
  • Performances may use live music, CD, or USB
  • Bring a national flag and group banner for the parade
  • Groups traveling by bus must use their own transportation during the festival
  • Groups requiring visas are responsible for their own arrangements
  • Rooming lists must be submitted at least one month before the event

Participation fee:

Basic Category Hotels
  • 180 Euro per person - 5 days (4 nights HB - breakfast and dinner)
Advanced Category Hotels
  • 215 Euro per person - 5 days (4 nights HB - breakfast and dinner)

Accommodation:

Festival fees include accommodation and organizational costs.
  • Rooms: mostly triple or quadruple, each with a private bathroom
  • Two double rooms provided for group leaders or drivers
  • Additional options:
    • Double room: +€10 per person per day
    • Single room: +€20 per day
    • Extra nights (Half Board): €50–€60 per person
  • One free place for every 25 participants
  • Check-in after 14:00, check-out before 09:00

Participation fee includes:

  • Hotel reservation
  • Festival organization
  • Diploma
  • Gift from the organization

Participation fee does not include:

  • Trip expenses, airport transfers and parking
  • Tourist guides, sightseeing and excursions
  • Tourist city tax
    • Tourist tax and insurance (€1.50 per person per day) are not included and are payable upon arrival.
  • Health insurance
    • All participants are responsible for their own personal and health insurance.
    • First aid and medical support will be available, but medical costs are the responsibility of each group.

* The organizer reserves the right to make changes to the festival program.

Festival promotion:

Festival events will be promoted through local and national media, including press, radio, television, flyers, and posters.
All photos and video materials remain the property of the festival organizers.
By submitting an application, groups agree to all festival terms and conditions.

Any group willing to participate must submit an Application form.
Approved groups pay in advance a 10% guarantee fee, which is to be deducted at the final payment.

As a next step: To confirm participation, each group must pay a 10% advance deposit to the main organizer.

The remaining balance is due no later than 15 days before the festival, payable by bank transfer or upon arrival, as previously arranged with the organizers.

Please note:
  • The advance deposit is non-refundable in case of cancellation.
  • In case of force majeure or unforeseen circumstances, the organizers reserve the right to reschedule or postpone the festival.
  • Prices may be adjusted due to economic changes.
  • All banking fees are the responsibility of the applicant.
