The village of Vál is situated 45 kilometers from Budapest and 40 kilometers from the popular holiday resort of Lake Velence.
The small settlement has rich historical past and valuable folk art.
The "Vál-Valley" international folk art festival organized every year, where apart from Hungarian folk dancers several foreign folk ensembles take part.
Lake Velence is the third largest lake in Hungary It is a popular holiday destination among Hungarians. The lake has an area of 26 km2, one third of which is covered by the common reed. Because of the sunny climate of the area and the shallowness of the lake, it is one of the warmest lakes in Europe: its temperature in the summer may reach 26 to 28 °C

Participants:

Youth and adult folklore groups, folk choirs, folk music bands from all over the world (over 14 years)
The number of the participants is not limited

Participation fee:

  • 135 Euro per person (2-3 bedded rooms; supplement for a single room is 12 €/person/day)

Participation fee includes:

  • Participation at the festival concerts
  • Accommodation in hotel (3 nights)
  • Half board (2 meals/day)
  • Diploma, gift

Participation fee does not include:

  • Transport
  • Some optional programs
  • Tourist tax: 2 €/person/day, payment on the spot at the accommodation

4 September
After breakfast free program – wine tasting, boat trip, refreshing in the Lake Velence
Afternoon short performance in Vál – the participants of the festival meet each other –„dance house” – could teach dancing to the other
Receiving the gifts and diplomas
Dinner – with the local folkdance group

5 September
After breakfast free program, visiting the Dinnyés Castle Park and visit to the royal city of Szekesfehervar
Afternoon marching, opening ceremony, performance at the Folk Festival
and typical Hungarian „dance house” – live music, teaching dances with a folk band/folk musicians

6 September
After breakfast, departure of the participants

Any group willing to participate must submit an Application form.
Approved groups pay in advance a 10% guarantee fee, which is to be deducted at the final payment.
