Contact person: Murat Erdem Akşehir is a town and district of Konya Province in the Central Anatolia region of Turkey. The town is situated at the edge of a fertile plain, on the north side of the Sultan Dagh. The town's landmarks include the alleged tomb of Nasreddin Hoca, the tomb of Seydi Mahmut, other monuments and old Turkish houses. Between 5 July and 10 July each year, commemorations with concerts and other social activities are held to the memory of Akşehir's famous resident, Nasreddin Hodja. With its rich architectural heritage, Akşehir is a member of the Norwich-based European Association of Historic Towns and Regions. Conditions for participation: The groups are requested to arrive in Akşehir on 04. July 2018 - 12:00 and depart on 09 July .2018 - 12:00, after breakfast. The number of participants must be 40 people with driver. The groups will prepare 5-10 minutes programs. All groups have to prepare minimum 2 different performances. Each group should bring flags of their countries with them. We will prefer dance groups with live music but recorded music also acceptable. Pocket money will not be paid to the groups by Festival Committee. If group come by bus, we will provide 400 Lt. diesel. If group come by plane, We will provide transportation from Ankara, İstanbul and Antalya Airports. Participation fee: Municipality will provide accommodation and meals. Participation fee per group is 1000 euro for up to 40 participants. Participation fee includes: Accommodation in hostel in rooms with 2 and 4 beds and WC. Each participant will receive a certificate for participation. Any group willing to participate must submit an Application form. Approved groups pay in advance a 10% guarantee fee, which is to be deducted at the final payment.
