"Cultural and Historical Heritage: preservation, presentation, digitization“
Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria, April 18 – 20, 2019

From 18h till 20st of April, 2019 accompanying with the next International tourist exhibition „Cultural tourism" – Veliko Tarnovo (MTI2019), the Fifth International scientific conference "Cultural and Historical Heritage: preservation, presentation, digitization“ (KIN2019) will be held.
 
The conference is dedicated to the 550th anniversary of the return of the relics of St. John of Rilski from Turnovo to the Rila Monastery and 150 years since the founding of "Nadezhda - 1869" Community center.
 
Main directions of the conference are preservation, digitization and presentation of the world and national tangible and intangible cultural heritage. 
 
The Interdisciplinary Forum aims to present scientific and applied researches, projects, innovations in the field of cultural and historical heritage (CHH). The main focus of KIN2019 will be the latest trends and the application of modern technologies and the Bulgarian experience in the preservation, presentation and digitization of Cultural and Historical Heritage. The reports of scientific researches, results and achievements in the field of KIN will be published in an online succession, registered in the National Information and Documentation Center
 
THE SUBJECTS OF THE CONFERENCE (in alphabetical order) ARE IN THE BORDERS OF THE FOLLOWING RESEARCH AREAS, WITHOUT LIMITATION:

 

  • Digital Humanities 
  • Ethnology and folklore
  • History, archeology, archivistics
  • Art Studies
  • Computer Sciences
  • Marketing in the field of culture: cultural tourism, tourist routes
  • Museology of 21c.
  • Providing access to the KIN for people with disabilities
  • Serious games in the field of KIN
  • KIN and Creative Industries: access, security and legal protection

The program will include reports from leading experts from Bulgaria and abroad, a round table, exhibition and demonstrations presenting the efforts of scientists, cultural institutions and organizations from various fields for documenting, archiving, presenting and preserving KIN.
 
Within KIN2019 will be organized and presented:
- Scientific reports and announcements on the specified subjects (up to 20 min / report);
- Presentation of project results for documentation, preservation and provision of wide public access to cultural heritage in libraries, museums, archives and galleries in Northern and Central Bulgaria;
- Seminar "Preservation, Digitization and Presentation of Intangible Cultural Heritage";
- A special section on cultural tourism where MTI2019 participants share their experiences (up to 10 min / report);
- Round Table "550 years from the return of the relics of St. John of Rilski from Turnovo to the Rila Monastery".
Demonstration of Individual Travel Guides for Mobile devices GUIDE@HAND;
Exhibition of the Scientific Archive of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences;
- Exhibition "Folklore - Shared Knowledge. Past, Present, Future ".
 
 
 
The conference is expected to include well-established experts from Bulgaria, Russia, Hungary, Belarus and Germany, with extensive experience in the preservation, presentation and digitization of KIN.
 
Research institutes, universities, libraries, museums, archives, galleries, business representatives and tourist information centers are invited to exchange experiences, ideas and results on the subject of the conference.
 
Opening of the conference: April 18, 2019 within the framework of the International Tourism Fair "Cultural Tourism" - Veliko Tarnovo.
Working language of the conference: Bulgarian, English, Rusian.
