The Grand prize Golden “Orpheus” for 2014 at Х International folklore festival „Euro folk – Black sea 2014” took the performers from “Asiman” Dance formation from Azerbaijan. The award was granted to Vahid Salimov, art director of the ensemble from Baku, personally from Mr. Kaloyan Nikolov - president of the European Association of Folklore Festivals – EAFF, under whose auspices the festival was held. The guests from Azerbaijan impressed the jury with the quality of their dance compositions. The tenth edition of the festival was held from 17 to 22 June in Kiten. 65 collectives from Bulgaria, Georgia, Poland, Romania, Ukraine, Turkey and Azerbaijan took part. The program included four 6-hours concerts and a parade of participants. The collectives were evaluated in 6 categories and 2 age groups from the competent jury with chairman – Maestro Georgi Yankov. In the evening of 21 June, there was a gala-concert, where the winners were officially awarded. Four Bulgarian ensembles were grated with Golden “Orpheus” award this year. They are Female choir at “Razvitie 1902” Community center, Merdanya village, Municipality of Lyaskovets in the category “Processed songs”; “Izvorche” ensemble from Krumovgrad, who won the “Orpheus” prize in the category “Authentic folklore”; Bell Bearers group at “Izgrev 1928” Community Center from Dragodanovo village, municipality of Sliven, who are winners in the category “National Customs” and “Buratino” Childrens vocal group from Shumen, who won first prize in the category “Processed songs for children”. First award Golden “Orpheus” in the category “Folklore dances – children” was granted to two ensembles from Georgia. Those are the performers from “Shavnabada” and “Ureki” from Tbilisi. First award Golden “Orpheus” in “Folklore dances” category won the guests from Turkey. This is ''Kirmastoria'' Dance formation from Bursa. In the category “Folklore dance and vocal composition”, the first price Golden “Orpheus” took the performers from Romania. „Craisorii pietrei craiului” Folklore group from Zarneshti, Brasov, also also convinced the jury and the audience in its talent. „Zawaternik“ Group for Folklore songs and dances from от Leśnica – Groń, Poland, with art director Maria Dudek, took first award Golden “Orpheus” in the category “Folklore ensembles”. „Barvi” Ensemble from Sambor, Ukraine, took first prize Golden “Orpheus” in the category “Folklore dances – modern choreography”. The festival “Euro folk – Black sea 2014” had a very big interest among the public. The stage of “Svoboda” Community Center hardly held the guests and the citizens of Kiten. The municipality if Kiten once again successfully partnered with EAFF as at the opening of the cultural forum greeted the participants made the mayor of Kiten - Atanas Petrov. Media partner of the event was “Euro folk TV” television, which broadcasted live on the internet concerts of the festival program.
