Mayor of Thermaikos, Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Katerini, the president of the regional unit of Thessaloniki and consuls from India, Canada and Russia attended the 1st International Folklore Festival Thessaloniki - Greece, in Perea.

It was held from 31 July to 4 August and more than 2,000 people audience applauded performances of 260 participants from Canada, India, Russia, Poland, Bulgaria and Greece.

Previous festivals in North Pieria Greece (from June 26 to July 1) and in Central Pieria (from July 2 to July 7) also had a big success. The organizers welcomed groups and representatives of more than fifteen countries.

Expectations are the 8th International Festival in South Pieria Greece (from August 27 to September 1) to have a great success and to provide new opportunities for participants to learn about different cultures and nations, make new friends, share experiences and contacts with other folk groups.

During their stay, the participants will have the pleasure to enjoy the Greek hospitality, crystal blue sea and bright southern sun.
