The day of St. Kliment Ohridski / August 8 / - the patron of Ohrid (city of St. Kliment and St. Naum - the best students of St. Cyril and Methodius) was celebrated with the fourth edition of the International Festival of choirs and orchestras "St. Kliment Ohridski". The cultural, spiritual and tourist center of Macedonia gathered together 7 groups with 300 participants from five countries - Estonia, Montenegro, Latvia, Poland and Hungary. From 6th to 10th of August many songs in honor of the patron of the city were sang.The festival was officially opened on 8th of August by the deputy mayor of Ohrid. At the end of the second festival evening / August 9 / the festival director Milenko Andreski thanked the participants participated in the this years edition of the International Festival, and gave them certificates for participation. All groups had the opportunity to exchange gifts and contacts.Festival evenings were held near the oldest tree - Chinar. Performers presented their characteristic music and interesting costumes and this way they converged to different cultures even more. During the festival participants from around the world had the opportunity to meet new people, make new friendships and also to see the beauty of Ohrid. They visited many historical and cultural monuments, the Bay of bones, the cave churches St. Kalishta and Vevcani springs near Struga. St. Kliment was a true teacher and spiritual mentor. He labored around the clock to educate his people. More than 3500 students - future teachers and spiritual shepherds trained in the school founded in Ohrid. Because of their activity God glorified him by miracles. The memory of St. Kliment, this great saint of God, today is alive among all Bulgarians, especially in Macedonia and Ohrid.
