Popular Spanish resort Pineda de Mar, located in Costa del Maresme (Autonomous Community of Catalonia) between Barcelona and Girona is the host of International Festival, which was held from 26th to 3rd of October.

Dozens groups from different countries demonstrated their national and cultural diversity. Within 8 concerts in front of a large audience, the participants presented typical customs, authentic and arranged songs and dances in Plaza can Comas. Drummers, musical - entertainment groups, historical dancers, choral groups and standard-bearers took part in the event.

The parade went on the streets of Pineda de Mar and was applаuded by citizens and guests of the city. 

In the free day, groups-guests had opportunity to explore the landmarks of the town and go to the beach. The performers thanked for the warm welcome and the good organization of the event. They identified their participation in the forum as a great opportunity to get to know better the culture of other peoples, their folklore and musical talents, as well as to create new acquaintances and contacts for future collaboration. And all this in a wonderful combination with "sip" recreation.

Pineda de Mar is a resort, famous with long beaches and the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean. The beach extends almost 3 km in length and a width of 40 meters. The sand's colour is between silver white to golden yellow. 3-kilometer beach of Pineda de Mar is awarded with the Blue Flag of UNESCO annually.

Initially Pineda de Mar was a small fishing village, but in the middle of the 20th century rich people from Barcelona began to build private villas on the coast, the first hotels were built. At the end of the century, tourism has developed significantly - many hotels were built (different quality) and today people with different incomes and interests can benefit from the opportunirty for leisure there.

The climate in Pineda de Mar is typical Mediterranean - summer is hot, the average temperature exceeds +30 ° C. Winter, daytime temperature rarely falls below + 5C, and rain and snow are considered as a phenomenon. Autumn is often rainy.

Besides tourist part of town, Pineda de Mar has a historical that can be seen as in a "palm". It includes buildings built before 4 BC. Ruins of the castle of Mont Palau ruling in 12th century dynasty are preserved. Famous church of St. Mary was built in the 11th century, but today it is a kind of monument of the 16th century construction and it is famous for the fantastic beauty of baroque facade. Can Jalpi palace is from 15-16 century and it is located near the church.

Within the municipality are also located other archaeological artifacts such as ancient Roman aqueduct and watchtowers. Very well preserved sports pavilion, built in modern style.

In Pineda de Mar there are many green parks and gardens, wide walkways, bike rental. The city is surrounded by forests of famous Iberian pine, making the air cleaner and healthier.
