One of the oldest cities in Europe and one of the largest urban centers in the Balkans, Belgrade is the capital of Serbian culture, education and science and offers many historical landmarks and cultural events. In support of the nomination for European Capital of Culture in 2020, this year Belgrade will gather hundreds of artists from dozens of countries in Europe and worldwide in 4 music festival under the auspices of the European Association of Folklore Festivals - EAFF. From 13 to 16 May is the International Folklore Dance festival ''Zaigraj -Zapevaj”. It does not have a competitive character. Children and youth folklore dance groups, vocal groups, instrumental groups and soloists, as well as groups and participants from other styles can participate in the festival. The number of participants is not limited. In their spare time performers can see the tourist attractions of the Serbian capital. The popular and beautiful places for walking and recreation in Belgrade can be visited from 10 to 13 June, when will be held Weekend of folklore in Serbian capital. Тhe organizers provide an opportunity for additional trips to famous streets, squares, monuments, parks, fountains, archaeological sites and other attractions that are worth visiting. Мany of them have the status of cultural values. At the beginning of July, from 7 to 10, will be held International Choral Festival. Within the two days of the festival, participants will perform in 3 categories. In the first, the audience will hear performances of mixed choirs, in the second - female, and in the third - male choirs. Part of the conditions of the organizers is performing a cappella or with the accompaniment of an instrument. From 21 to 23 October will be held the International Folklore festival "Еthno fest Belgrade 2016". Participants will perform in two age categories – from 8 to 16 and above 16 years old.
