V Folklore Festival in Marmaris (Mugla, Turkey) was held from 16 to 20 May. 6 groups from Georgia, Sri Lanka, T.R.N.C. and Turkey took part in this year's edition. The 160 performers showed their dance art to the public of Marmaris. During the festival, participants were introduced to new cultures and traditions, and their organizers provided an opportunity for travel by yacht.
The dancers prepared a common dance for the final night. About 6 000 people watched the gala concert. In the final part, the audience and performers danced together, following the aim of the organizers – "Dance to peace".
The mission of the organizers is to create a bridge between cultures. Every year they host festivals that are attended by various foreign groups.
The festivals focus on specific ethnic or cultural themes and aim to show to the participants different traditions and through their participation to share stories and experiences to build new friendships.
From 2006 until today, the organizers has held 63 international folklore festival with about 11 000 participants from Macedonia, Serbia, TRNC, Kabardino-Balkaria, Czech Republic, Georgia, Bulgaria, Greece, Kosovo, Republic of Ingushetia, Montenegro, Romania, Jordan, Latvia, Russia, Indonesia, Lithuania, Hungary, Mexico, India, Yakutia, North Ossetia.
