  United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization /UNESCO/ confirmed the official partnership with the European Association of Folklore Festivals - EAFF. The decision was taken at the sixth session of the General Assembly of States - parties to the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage from 2003 which was held from May 30 to June 1, 2016 at the headquarters of UNESCO in Paris.

UNESCO accredited EAFF as a Consultant to the Intergovernmental Committee for Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. Experts from the European Association will be working on the realization of projects and programs aiming at safeguarding intangible cultural heritage implemented in cooperation with UNESCO.

For all the members of EAFF is a great honor and joy to unite their own efforts with the biggest and the most respected institution in the world of education, science and culture.

"Preserving the traditions and arts of our ancestors is the only way in which each nation and community can retain its own identity. Folklore is the wisdom of generations, which teaches tolerance and understanding between people. Folklore is the best ambassador of peace.

Combining the efforts of UNESCO and the largest Association of folklore festivals in Europe is symbolic meeting of unity and good opportunities." - said the president of EAFF Mr. Kaloyan Nikolov.
