More than 500 performers from 8 countries - Bulgaria, Estonia, Lithuania, Hungary, Turkey, Finland, Ireland and Italy took part in the VII International summer festival "Meeting with tradition". It was held from the 9th until the 17th of July in Montecatini . For one week guests and locals of Montecini were fascinated with the culture and the traditions of different countries through dances and songs. 4 big concerts were organized and 2 big defiles on the city’s streets. During the free time the groups ate traditional cuisine and local wines, and had a great time on disco night. .Mr. Roberto Skaleti shared that the main purpose of the festival was to bond people, to create a calm atmosphere where you can acknowledge the other, to communicate and to bond the groups through music and art. Every group that participated was given an honorable diploma for participation, a valuable souvenir and gift. Representative delegation of the contestants met with the councilor of culture of Montecatini, Professor Bruno Ialuna, in the building of the municipality, built during the First World War. The directors of the groups took the seats of the municipality councilors. After that Professor Ialuna visited the museum of modern art, accompanied by the delegation. In the last few years the festival turned into a celebration of the various genre art, and into a tradition of the “warm” city. Montecatini Terme is in the heart of Tuscany near Florence, Lucca, Pisa, and Viareggio on the coast. It's a pleasant and peaceful town reminiscent of bygone days with a big park in the center, 3 thermal establishments, an elegant wellness center, high quality shops, and nice bars and restaurants. With its many reasonably-priced hotels and convenient location on the rail line, Montecatini Terme makes an excellent base for exploring Tuscany.
