President of European Association of Folklore Festivals – EAFF, Kaloyan Nikolov met the national artist of Russia, the composer known as the contemporary Shostakovich - Academician Sergey Slonimsky.

The meeting between the two of them went in the XVI International Conservatory Week Festival during the “King Lear” opera performance, whose libretto is made by Sergey Slonimsky.  He has written 33 symphonies, 8 operas, 2 ballets, symphonic, choral and chamber instrumental works, romances on poems by Pushkin, Lermontov and other famous Russian authors.

His work is implemented and recorded on CDs in Russia and across the world, and his labor is recognized and appreciated with many prestigious titles and awards. XVI International Conservatory Week Festival was held in the period 22^nd till 29^th of October in St. Petersburg (Russia). Performers from Russia, Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania, USA, Canada, Japan, UK, France, Austria, Italy, Spain, Poland and Hungary took part in it.
