Great competition took over the stage of the second festival night of the XIV Black Sea fest “Euro folk” 2017 which took place in the Bulgarian Black Sea resort Kiten.

More than 30 musical, vocal and dance groups and individual performers from Bulgaria and Romania presented their rich national traditions.

All the groups got Honorable diplomas and an Honorable sign as well as diplomas for significant contribution in the preservation and popularization of the traditional folk arts. Many of the groups got diplomas for accomplishment of continuity between generations named after Iliyan D. Nikolov – inspirer and organizer of the Stara Planina fest “Balkan folk”, and many became a “Discovery” of the fest and got laureate titles – 1, 2 and 3 degree.

Four formations were awarded First Prize “Golden Orpheus” in different genre categories:

Vocal group from vill. Polkopvnik Serafimovo Municipality Smolyan with artistic director Sabe Kaidzhiev (Bulgaria);

Folklore trio “Avliga” from Dupnitsa, Municipality Kyustendil with artistic director Rayna Hrsitvoa (Buglaria);

Children-adolescent dance group “Chavdar” from vill. Ivaylo Municipality Pazardzhik with artistic director Stoyan I Lyubomira Zlatanovi (Bulgaria);

Ensemble for folk songs and dance from vill. Brestnik, Municipality Rodopi, Region Plovdiv, with artistic director Hristo Donchev (Bulgaria).

The concert in the third competitive day starts at 16:50 and is broadcasted online by internet television Eurofolk which is the main media partner of the event.

Performance will have groups from 16 villages and cities in Bulgaria and Romania – Katina and Galac.
