From July 28 to July 3, 2017, the 5th World Folk Dance Contest "New Life 2017" was held on the Black Sea coast in Georgia in the city of Kobuleti and Batumi. The event was organized by the International Folklore Organization "KN XXI" under the auspices of the European Association of Folklore Festivals - the EAFF and the support of the municipalities of Batumi and Kobuleti.

"Our festival has united two festivals - the V World Dance Contest" New Life 2017 "and the XIII International Folklore Festival" Sea Harmony. "People from almost all regions of Georgia - 42 ensembles (1100 dancers and singers), as well as 25 foreign bands from Latvia, Russia, Iran, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Poland, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Turkey, each concert was crowded with spectators - about 1500-2000 people at the amphitheater in Kobuleti and up to 1,100 people in the gala concert of the summer theater in Batumi. turned into a holiday - ripened festive feast with a lot of fireworks (the fireworks were the most grandiose). " The most important thing is that for this festival, the participants accompanying, and the head of the collectives said,  for this festival, but the fact that such a level of the festival was not seen anywhere, and the service from the airport to the hotel and everywhere was at the highest level, and attention was taken by the participant, like his children. All this proves that all guests at our festival felt like an own house (this is hospitality and respect for guests in Georgia). I am glad that the purpose of the festival was fulfilled, the participants and leaders were very happy with the festival and appreciative hospitality and love host.” The director of the festival, Mr. Besik Gorjoladze, said.

The jury chose 4 groups for the main prizes.

• The third place was taken by the folk dance Ensemble "AYLAN DANCE GROUP" from Iran and "Altynai" Ensemble from Astana, Kazakhstan;
• The second place was taken byEnsemble "Karlygash" from Astana, Kazakhstan;
• The first place was given to the ensemble Folk Dance Group "Ligo" from Riga, Latvia.
• Winner of the V World Dance Contest "New Life 2017" was the dance group "Nur Shashu" from Astana, Kazakhstan, who won the Grand Prix.

All the groups received diplomas for participation in the folklore festival. During the festival, an excursion to Batumi was organized for foreign collectives.
