For another year the International Folklore Festival "Interfolk in Russia" will provide a stage for performers from around the world: vocal, dance and music groups performing traditional and folk dances, folk music, folklore ceremonies, rituals, popular games, etc., as well as craftsmen of folk arts and crafts.

From 15 to 18 November 2018 in several concert halls of educational institutions and cultural centers in St. Petersburg and the suburbs, will be held two competitive and one representative evening for the participants.

The competitive section includes two rounds, as the jury will evaluate the participants in three main criteria in five categories and four age groups. The groups will receive a Diploma for Participation and the best will be awarded with laureate titles (gold, silver, bronze), cups, and diplomas in each category and age group.

Only winners with golden diplomas will go to the second round (the winners with silver diplomas can participate by decision of the jury). In this round three major awards will be awarded in the categories - 15000 rubles (in EUR exchange rate), Diploma and Cup; Award of the Audience - Golden Cup, and the Grand Prix - "Star of Interfolk" - 10000 rubles (in EUR exchange rate), Diploma and Cup .

The organizers have also provided for the participants a tour of St. Petersburg with a guide.

The aim of the festival is to hand over the national traditions to the younger generations, to preserve the national heritage and develop new forms of intercultural dialogue. This will be possible with the "Friendship Evening", which is included in the program. The competition is open to the public.

Applications for participation are accepted until September 14, 2018 on the website of the European Association of Folklore Festivals – EAFF.
