Proof is the fact that for another year, more and more participants from Bulgaria and abroad submit applications for participation in Festival №1 in Europe - Stara Planina Fest "Balkan Folk".
Its 22-nd edition will be held from 10 to 20 May in the old Bulgarian capital Veliko Tarnovo. A desire to participate has already been claimed by hundreds of singers, musicians and dancers - longtime participants and new ones. Among them are: Female Singing Group "Zagorski zdravets", Dance club "Hop-trop", Trio "Bereg", Folklore group "Ganchovski snahi", Folk Dance Club "Oroigralets", Folklore group "Avliga pee", Children's vocal group for folk singing "Sorina", Vocal group "Peristitsa". indivudual performers Valentin Dimitrov, Valentin Gavrilov, Quartet "Gabrovo" and many many more talents from Bulgaria.
The guest participants from India, Indonesia, Georgia, Canada, Slovakia and others have claimed attractive performances that impress with costumes, movements dynamics and dedication to every audience. They are going to compete for the Grand Prix in World Cup of Folklore - Veliko Tarnovo 2018, which takes place simultaneously with XXII Stara Planina Fest “Balkan Folk 2018” and IX Bulgarian National Championship of Folklore "Euro Folk 2018"
The folklore samples from the treasury of Bulgarian, European and world folklore will be presented at the Summer Theater of Veliko Tarnovo. Applications for participation in the events will be accepted until March 30, 2018 on the official webpage of the European Association of Folklore Festivals - EAFF.
