An absolute winner of this year's 15th edition of the Black Sea Fest "Euro Folk" 2018 became the ensemble for folk songs and dances "Kitka Shrena" to "Prosveta" Community Center, Katuntsi village, municipality of Sandanski, Blagoevgrad region, with artistic director Mr. Evtim Zaykov.
Grand Prix Golden "Orpheus" was granted during the closing ceremony of the festival. The prize was awarded by Kaloyan Nikolov - President of the European Association of Folklore Festivals - EAFF to Elisaveta Drenkarova, a representative of the ensemble, which departed immediately after participating in the previous days of the event.
During the 15th edition of the festival, First Prizes Golden "Orpheus" in the respective genre categories were awarded to the following artists and ensembles:
Sisters Ivelina Andreeva and Tonika Andreeva - from the village of Glogovo; Ensemble "Gornopolska pesen" - Ovchartsivillage; Female chamber formation - Svilengrad; Group "Retroritam" - Debelets; DE "Pendar" - Pazardzhik; Dance Group "Alagar Dalbardara" - Republic of Saha (Yakutia, Russia); Singing group at Ensemble "Georgi Chilingirov" - Polkovnik Serafimovo village; Ensemble "Kitka sharena" - Katuntsi village; Ensemble "Kapantsi" - Getsovo village; Club "Yambolsko nastroenie" - Yambol; Mixed folklore group - Radievo village; DE"Trakiytsi" - Radievo village; FG "Reem Aljolan" - (Ain Kynia, Israel); DE "Milanovo" - Milanovo village.
16 groups took part in the parade, which was held during the festival. The attractive procession with 327 performers, led by bagpipers and mummers, passed on one of the main streets of Kiten under the applause of many residents and tourists of the sea town, after which the groups joined the program, which was already running on stage at "Kremikovtsi" complex.
Nearly 100 vocal groups, dance groups, orchestras, ensembles and individual performers from all folklore regions of Bulgaria, as well as groups from the Republic of Yakutia (Russia) and Israel took part in XV Black Sea Fest "Euro Folk" 2018, which was held from 5 to 10 September in Kiten and Tsarevo (Bulgaria).
The group leaders shared in front of the camera of Eurofolk TV their pleasant excitement and impressions of the good organization and conducting of this festival from the chain of EAFF in Bulgaria, which, in their words, returns them as participants each time on the stages of these festivals.
The youngest participant in Black Sea Fest "Euro Folk" 2018 this year was 5-year-old Vanesa Kyuchukova from Yambol, which became a "Discovery" at the festival, and the oldest participant was 85-year old Petar Raykov from Gabrovo.
The festival is part of the "Euro Folk" Musical Feasts and is under the auspices of the European Association of Folklore Festivals - EAFF, which includes 450 folklore festivals from around the world. EAFF is a globally recognized accredited organization with consultative status at UNESCO in the field of preservation of intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO.
