One of the new festivals from the big family of the European Association of Folklore Festivals - EAFF is already awaiting its first participants in the 1st International Folklore Festival in Halkidiki - one of the most beautiful places in Greece - Halkidiki.
The area of the municipality Aristotle District includes the gorgeous coasts of Uranopoli, Ierissos and Nea Roda. There is the "entrance" to the famous monastic community Holy mountain "Mount Athos". The translation of "uranupoli" is "heavenly city". The village is most famous as the place from where the Ferries for the Holy Forest with the Spiders are leaving.
The organization of the festival is at a high level and will give the participants the opportunity to study different cultures and people, to create new friendships, to exchange experiences and contact with other folk groups. Besides, during their stay, the participants will enjoy the perfect combination of virgin landscapes, colors, aromas, excursions to famous monasteries, sunny beaches and crystal blue sea.
A few years ago, it was not the most popular place, but today it is one of the most sought-after destinations of tourists. Applications for participation in the festival from 27 June to 2 July are accepted at the webpage of EAFF until 29 March 2019.
