The sixth edition of the International Independent World Children's Festival will be held in Ayvalik (Turkey). From 20 to 24 April, dancers from different countries can present the folk culture of their peoples, create new friendships, share experiences and enjoy the unique atmosphere of Ayvalik, a mixture of local Greek heritage and Cretan culture. The town is located in a historic region known for its ancient name Eolida. Nearby are the ruins of three important ancient towns - Assos, Troy and Pergamon. Nearby is Mount Ida, which can be seen from the town. Ayvalik is a popular tourist destination with the numerous islands, scattered in the bay linked to bridges. Besides the impressive ancient architecture in neoclassical style, two churches turned into mosques, fish restaurants and many souvenirs, the town attracts with the sandy beaches. Ayvalik owns two of the longest beaches in Turkey, stretching almost 30 km to the south.
