15th edition of the International Folklore Festival "Euro Folk - Black Sea 2019" began. Music forum will be attended by almost 50 folklore groups and individual performers who will present music and dance traditions from Bulgaria, Croatia and Ukraine. The southern Bulgarian Black Sea coast for the fifteenth year becomes a center of folklore art in the period from 19th to 24th June.
The festival has a competitive character and is an authorized qualification round of the World Association of Folklore Festivals - WAFF. Groups will be evaluated in six categories and two age groups. The jury will award the participants with the festival's honorary signs, laureate titles - 1, 2 and 3 degree, prizes, recommendations for participation in the championships from the system of EAFF, titles "Maestro" and "Maestro academic" for artistic leaders. The jury will also define the winners of the First prizes - Golden "Orpheus" in the genre categories and Grand Prix Golden "Orpheus".
500 performers will attend the concerts at the "Kremikovtsi" stage in Kiten. Hosts of the event are the Municipality of Primorsko, Kiten City Hall and Municipality of Tsarevo.
At the official opening ceremony, Kaloyan Nikolov - President of the European Association of Folklore Festivals - EAFF and Director of the folklore event welcomed all participants and wished them to continue to preserve the most valuable part of the patriotism and identity of peoples, materializing it in dances, songs and music.
The festival is part of the Musical Feast "Euro Folk" and it is held under the auspices of the European Association of Folklore Festivals - EAFF. The Association has 450 members - festivals from all over the world. EAFF is accredited organization to provide advisory services in the field of Safeguarding the World Cultural Heritage to the Committee for Intangible Cultural Heritage at UNESCO.
