In accordance to the 150th Anniversary of BAS, together with the Regional Center for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in Southeast Europe, under the auspices of UNESCO, in the period October 17th - 19th was organized an international scientific forum on: "Current Issues in the Study of the Intangible Cultural Heritage and the Implementation of the 2003 Convention". Responsible organizer for the event was the member correspondent - Prof. Mila Santova. 

Various topics were discussed by the scientists at the International Scientific Conference, which was held in the "Prof. Marin Drinov" hall at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. President of EAFF - Mr Kaloyan Nikolov was guest of the event as a member of the Executive Board of the Regional Center for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Southeast Europe (Category 2) under the auspices of UNESCO. 

During two days and 8 sections leading up to the discussion panel, reports and presentations were presented covering issues related to: "Academic Problems", "Education", "The community center", "Cultural Policies", "General Theoretical Problems", "Interpretations" and  "Bulgaria / Eastern Europe".

Forum was held under the patronage of the Chairman of Bulgarian Academy of Sciences - Academician Yulian Revalski and it was on of the main scientific events dedicated to the jubilee of the Academy. The Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Studies with the Ethnographic Museum was involved. 

The first day of the Conference was closed with fascinating program with double-voiced songs, presented by the ladies from "Bistrishki babi" and the ritual named "Lazaruvane" presented by their grandchildren, as well as songs and dances from Banya, performance of Salih Bukovyan and Shaban Kosin, songs from Voynyagovo village, performances of Kostadin Ilchev and his followers. The concert presented the holders of knowledge and skills related to inscribed elements in the National Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Bulgaria.

The program of the scientific conference also included accompanying events - presentation of delicious dishes prepared according to traditional recipes, typical for Bulgarian cuisine and a visit to the National Ethnographic Museum.
