This year, the Balkan champion of folklore of the "Euro folk - Jiva voda" competition is the Dance group "Nova generatsia" at "Vdahnoveni" Association - Kyustendil, Bulgaria. Art director of the group is Evgenii Vuchkov. The group won the Golden medal of the Championship, Grand Prix Golden "Orpheus", the title "Absolute Balkan Champion of Folklore in 2021". Winners also received money prize in the amount of 1 000 BGN, provided by the Municipality of Hisarya. The check was given by the Mayor of Hisarya - Eng. Penka Ganeva. Second place of the competition was taken by the Dance group "Pirinska magia" at "Prosveta 1937" Community center from Marikostinovo village, Bulgaria. Artistic leader of the group is Valeri Zhganev. They won the Silver medal, Silver "Orpheus" and title "Balkan Vice-champion of Folklore in 2021". Children's group "Belchinche" at "Svetlina 1909" Community center from Belchin village, Bulgaria won third place. Leader of the group is Daniela Georgieva. Participants won the Bronze medal, Bronze "Orpheus" of the competition. The jury, which determined who will receive the prestigious awards of the folklore competition, was composed of: maestro Georgi Yankov - music specialist and conductor, Mrs. Maria Sharalieva - choreographer, organizer of "Cultural Activities" and artistic director of the Children's Dance Ensemble at the "Ivan Vazov - 1904" Community center ; Mrs. Mariana Nutsova - ethnologist, author of folklore TV shows and movies. A special diploma according to the criterion "Appearance" (performance, costumes, props, staging, choice of repertoire) was awarded to the Ensemble "Zmeychani" at the Association "Folklore Formation Zmeychani", with artistic director Emil Pehlivanov. Diploma according to the criterion "Stage presence (behavior, artistry)" was given to the Group of folklore dances "Trakia II" at the "Hristo Botev 1902" Community center from Dimitrovgrad, Bulgaria. The award of EurofolkTV, the main media partner of the IX Balkan Championship of Folklore "Euro folk - Jiva voda" 2021, was given to Dance group "Srednogorski polah" at the Non-Profit Association Dance group "Srednogorski polah" from Ihtiman, Bulgaria. Artistic directors of the ensemble are Desislava Ivanova and Mariela Ivanova. They received free shooting of a video by the team of "EurofolkTV". The record for the youngest participant was improved by the 5-month-old Valentin Gadzhanakov - the newest addition to the Ensemble "Zmeytsa" from the village of Zmeytsa, Bulgaria. A special diploma and plaque from the "Ivan Vazov 1904" Community center was awarded to the Group for authentic folklore “Dyado, baba, vnuche" at "Otets Paisiy" Community center - Malevo village, Bulgaria, led by Dimitar Sivakov. Survakar group at the "Kruger Nikolov 1922" Community center, Peshtera village, Bulgaria with artistic director - Stoyan Stoyanov, received the special award from the Municipality of Hisarya - diploma for excellent performance and a plaque. The third special prize - a diploma of the European Association of Folklore Festivals - EAFF, was awarded to the Children's dance ensemble, IV age group at the "Ivan Vazov - 1904" Community center from Hisarya, with artistic director Maria Sharalieva. The ensemble was chosen to participate in the International Dance Festival in Guamaggiore, Sardinia, Southern Italy. With words of gratitude to the organizers and participants, Mr. Kaloyan Nikolov - President of the European Association of Folklore Festivals - EAFF, closed the forum, wishing all performers to see each other again next year at the tenth anniversary edition of the Balkan Championship of Folklore "Euro folk - Jiva voda" in the town of healing water - Hisarya.
