More than 1,500 participants will perform on the stage of the XXV Stara Planina Festival "Balkan Folk"

For a quarter of a century, Veliko Tarnovo has hosted the Stara Planina Festival "Balkan Folk", which will be held from May 12 to 16 this year on the stage of the Summer Theater in Marno Pole Park. More than 110 folklore groups and individual performers will take part in the forum, and the repertoire of music, singing and dancing groups will be presented by about 1,500 participants from Bulgaria and Montenegro.

The XII Bulgarian National Championship of Folklore "Euro Folk 2022" and the VII World Cup of Folklore - Veliko Tarnovo 2022 are held in parallel with the Festival. The concert programs will take place from 15:00 to 21:00 o'clock on 13, 14 and 15 May.

The official opening of the event will take place on May 13 from 19:30, and the closing ceremony and awarding of participants - on May 15 from 20:00.

Stara Planina Festival "Balkan Folk" is held under the patronage of the National Commission of Bulgaria for UNESCO, with the financial and logistical support of the Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo, and as part of the Music Feasts "Euro Folk".

The performances, part of the cultural experience that enriches the music and dance traditions of the old capital, are recorded with professional television equipment and the best of them are broadcast repeatedly on four satellite televisions covering the whole of Europe. All concerts within the music forums will be broadcast live on the online platforms of the European Association of Folklore Festivals - EAFF and EurofolkTV.
