600 performers took part in the International Folklore Dance and Music Festival "Halikarnas", which was held from 24 to 28 June 2022. The event welcomed groups that presented traditions of Mexico, Bulgaria, Iran, Azerbaycan, Serbia, Greece and Turkey (Balikesir, Canakkale, Milas, Bodrum).

The forum took place on the stage of the Bodrum Fortress, which is usually used for concerts by pop artists, and its festival program was watched by more than 3,000 spectators.

Folklore festival was opened with a welcoming speech by the organizers and the national Turkish anthem. The closing ceremony was attended by well-known local artists such as Mehmet Aykac, and the awards were presented to the groups by him.

The second festival event took place at the profesional stage that was arranged at the square of Turgutreis city in Bodrum, where participants also had the opportunity to dance in front of more than 800 spectators.

During the festival program, the participants visited the municipality of Bodrum and had the opportunity to be welcomed by the Mayor Mr. Ahmet Aras, who gave the participants presents and invited the guests again next year to be part of one of the biggest folklore festival events in Bodrum, Turkey.

Guests had the opportunity to join - a boat trip, a visit to the underground museum, the Bodrum Fortress and the Ancient Theater in the city.

After the festival they returned to their countries with great memories and a desire to join the music fiesta again.
