From December 1 to 4, Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, hosted the II. International Prize in the Field of Performing Arts “Folk Star”. About 300 performers of folklore dances, songs and music from the Republic of  Yakutia (Sakha), Krasnoyarsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Sverdlovsk, Samara, Moscow and abroad - India and Mongolia - took part in the competition.

According to the decision of the international jury, 6 participants from Yakutia became holders of the title "Absolute Winner":

In the "Best vocal group" category, the winner is the Student Folklore Ensemble "Dolun" - Arctic State Institute of Culture and Arts, Yakutsk, Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), led by Egorova Lena Mitrofanovna.

The Best folklore group is Student Folklore Ensemble "Aar" - Arctic State Institute of Culture and Arts, Yakutsk, Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), led by Sidorova Anastasia Markovna.

Honored as "Best soloist" is Orgilbayar Nyamzhav, a student from AGIKI (Yakutsk), Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

The jury also marked who was awarded the "The best national costume" - Semenova Anna Nikolaevna, Balagachcha village, Vilyuysky district, Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

Raisa Petrova Nikolaevna, Betyung, Vilyuysky district, Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) was awarded for "The best stage costume".

The Best folklore music performer is Khobusarova Marianna, Verkhnevilyusky ulus, Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), and the Best dance group is "Nairi" - Armenian Folk Dance Ensemble of the Armenian Community of Nizhny Novgorod, Nizhny Novgorod, led by Karine Sarkisovna Kocharyan and choreographer Saribekyan Anahit Ashotovna.

Winners of the Grand Prix are:

  • Vocal Quartet Dobun, village of Sulgachchi, Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), led by Matveeva Aleksandra Nikolaevna. Their category is "Folklore songs", age group: 13-16 years.
  • Exemplary folklore ensemble "Chamchuune" - Verkhnevilyuy children's art school named after N. I. Boylokhov - Verkhnevilyuysk village, Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), with leader Marianna Vladimirovna Khobusarova. Their category is "Folklore songs", age group: 13-16 years.
  • Matveeva Alexandra – Sulgachi, Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Category "Folklore songs", age group: 17-45 years.
  • Duet Zakharova Ulyana and Sleptsova Maria at Ensemble of homuists "Shine of the North" - Yakutsk, led by Zakharova Ulyana Vasilievna. Age group: mixed age category.
  • Dubovikov Sergey - Nizhny Novgorod, "Folklore instruments" category, age group: 17-45 years.
  • Folklore Ensemble "Makosh" - Nizhny Novgorod, led by Utkina Svetlana Arkadievna. Category "Folklore songs", age group: over 45 years.
  • Nebogatikov Zakhar at Nizhny Novgorod College of Music named after M.A. Balakirev - Nizhny Novgorod, with art director Aleksey Alekseevich Bondarev, in the category "Folk instruments", age group: 17-45 years.
  • Dance Ensemble "Volga Fantasy" at Nizhny Novgorod Regional College of Culture - Bor, Nizhny Novgorod. Choreographer Chaikina Anastasia Romanovna, director Tretyakova Marina Viktorovna. Category "Folk dances",  age group: 17-45 years.

The absolute winner of the online voting for the "Audience Award" is Fashion Studio "Naria" - village of Verhnevilyuysk, Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), with art director Tarasova Gulnara Vladimirovna, age group 13-16 years.

Folklore ensemble "Zabava" from Krasnoyarsk, led by Pertseva Tatyana Alekseevna, concertmaster Lopatin Albert Evgenievich, was also the winner, defined by the audience's vote. Age category: mixed.

Within the framework of the competition, a master class "Paired Folk Ethnographic Dances of the Nizhny Novgorod Region" was held. The accompanying event was led by jury member Lyubov Kolesnikova, leader of the Family folklore and ethnographic ensemble "Ptitsa Zhar". The students of AGIKI met the students of the Nizhny Novgorod Regional College of Culture, who won the Grand Prize of the "Folk Star" Prize. The participants of the festival were accommodated in the best hotel in Nizhny Novgorod, "Marins-Park****". During a tourist tour of the city, the Yakuts got to know in more detail the capital of the Volga Federal District, created 8 centuries ago as a fortress city and included by UNESCO in the list of 100 cities of the world of world history and cultural value.
