This year's winner of the first place in the European Championship of Folklore "Euro Folk" 2023 is Ensemble for folklore dances "Codrenii" from Calarasi, Moldova. Art directors of the group are Igor Filipchuk and George Furkulitsa. The ensemble received the Golden medal of the Championship, the Grand Prix Golden "Orpheus", the title "Absolute European Champion of Folklore in 2023". Winners also received a money prize in the amount of 1000 BGN, provided by Euro Folk Academy. Folklore competition was held in the period from 28 June to 2 July, 2023 in Nessebar, Sunny beach and Sveti Vlas. The chairman of the jury commission was Maestro Georgi Yankov - musical expert and conductor, and the members were: Mr Valentin Halvadzhiev - choreographer, author of folklore dance choreographies; and Mrs Mariana Nutsova - ethnologist, program director of EuroFolkTV. The second place in the Championship went to the Children's dance ensemble "Pherkhisa" from Batumi, Adjaria, Georgia. Artistic director of the group is David Kopaleishvili. The ensemble won the Silver medal and Silver "Orpheus" of the Championship, as well as the title "European Vice Champion of Folklore in 2023". The third place went to Children's folklore dance ensemble "Lashqari" from Batumi, Georgia. Art leader of the ensemble is Lasha Gogitidze. They won the Bronze medal and the Bronze "Orpheus" of the European Championship of Folklore "Euro Folk". Special prize of the European Association of Folklore Festivals - EAFF went to Mixed group at "Hristo Botev" Community center, Glavinitsa village, Silistra, Bulgaria. Art director of the group is Plamen Skorcheliev. The prize of the Mayor of the Municipality of Nessebar - Mr. Nikolay Dimitrov, a Diploma and a Gift set by the Municipality, was given to the group "NAWASENA" at SMA Negeri 28 Jakarta. Art leader of the group is Doni Yoshida. The president of EAFF - Mr. Kaloyan Nikolov officially closed the Championship wishing all the participants to meet them again in the next festival season and said: "The days of the fifteenth edition of the European Championship of Folklore have passed, and I am happy that on these stages, on one of the most beautiful corners of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, a great many nations were able to meet, show their folklore, understand that they value it and that they preserve it for future generations - one of our most important goals today."
