From October 14 to 19, 2024, the 19th World Dance Festival “Udbhav Utsav” took place in Gwalior, India, bringing together dance groups from the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Kyrgyzstan, Sri Lanka, and 49 groups from various parts of India. The festival, dedicated to the diversity of dance cultures, was held in Gwalior, the UNESCO Music City.

The event began with an impressive parade procession down the main street of the historic city, introducing the audience to the festival’s festive spirit. The climax of the fourth evening was an exciting blend of classical dance and contemporary music performed on the stage of the Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Agricultural University. The artists, dressed in traditional costumes, presented impressive choreography to magical music that won the hearts of the audience. The performances were so captivating that the hall repeatedly burst into applause.

The “Gala Night” and closing ceremony of the festival left lasting impressions on the audience. The presentations of dance and musical works from different cultures, combined with exquisite costumes, added to the magic of “Udbhav Utsav.” The audience was enchanted by performances that revealed the colorful world of dance art.

The opening ceremony was attended by the special guest, His Excellency Mr. Yankov Nikolay, Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to India, who welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of cultural exchange in contemporary society.
