Today, April 29, the world celebrates International Dance Day – a special occasion that reminds us of the power of movement to connect nations, cultures, and generations.

Dance is a universal language that transcends the boundaries of time and space. It is an expression of identity, emotion, and the pursuit of freedom and creativity. For us at the European Association of Folklore Festivals (EAFF), dance is the very heart of cultural heritage – a living bridge between tradition and modernity.

Today, we pay tribute to all dancers – both professionals and amateurs – who preserve and pass on the spirit of our ancestors through their art. We thank the folklore ensembles, groups, and solo performers who inspire us with their talent and dedication during the festivals held under the auspices of EAFF.

Let us continue together to protect and promote the richness of world folklore through its most beautiful form – dance!
