On August 29, at the “Arena” Amphitheater – Saint Vlas, the 15th anniversary edition of the World Championship of Folklore “World Folk 2025” will be officially opened. The event brings together more than 1000 participants, united in 50 groups and individual performers, who will present the richness of folk art from around the globe.

The organizer of the event is Euro Folk Academy, and the hosts are Nessebar Municipality, Sunny Beach Resort Complex, Saint Vlas City Hall, and Dinevi Group. The championship is held under the auspices of the European Association of Folklore Festivals (EAFF) – an accredited organization to UNESCO in the field of intangible cultural heritage.

The program includes two competition evenings – on August 29 and 30 – in which the participants will compete in 9 genre categories and 2 age groups. The performances will be evaluated by a jury chaired by Maestro Georgi Yankov – music specialist and conductor, and members: Valentin Halvadzhiev – choreographer, and Mariana Nutsova – ethnologist and program director of EurofolkTV.

The best ensembles and individual performers will be awarded certificates, medals, material prizes, nominations for the Grand Prix “Golden Orpheus” and the title “Absolute World Folklore Champion 2025,” accompanied by a cash prize of €1000 provided by the organizers.

The official opening will start on August 29 at 8:00 p.m. at the “Arena” Amphitheater – Saint Vlas and will be accompanied by a festive concert program.
