From 23 to 28 October 2026, the Indian city of Gwalior will host the 21st World Dance Festival UDBHAV UTSAV – an international festival bringing together folk and traditional dance ensembles, musical groups, and marching bands from around the world. The event transforms the city into a stage for cultural dialogue, exchange, and the live presentation of national traditions.

Located in the northern part of the state of Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior is recognized as a UNESCO Music City and is among India’s most significant cultural centers. The city is renowned for the majestic Gwalior Fort, often described as “the pearl in the necklace of Indian forts,” as well as iconic landmarks such as the Jai Vilas Palace and the Sun Temple. Its rich historical heritage and vibrant musical and dance traditions create an authentic setting for the festival.

The World Dance Festival UDBHAV UTSAV aims to encourage creative communication among performers, discover and support new talents, and deepen intercultural understanding through art. The festival program includes stage performances, a ceremonial carnival parade, and meetings between artists and audiences, turning the event into a true celebration of diversity.

The festival is open to folk and traditional dance groups, musical and marching ensembles, as well as school and amateur formations. Participants will have the opportunity to present their art to an international audience and experience the cultural richness of India.

Groups wishing to take part in the 21st World Dance Festival UDBHAV UTSAV 2026 are invited to submit participation applications and become part of this large-scale international cultural event.
