The organizers of the 6th International Folk Dance and Music Festival “Ohrid Spring Festival” announce a 5% discount for all ensembles that submit their applications between 20 February and 20 March 2026. The event will take place from 30 April to 2 May 2026 in Ohrid, North Macedonia, bringing together folklore groups, choirs, orchestras, majorette teams, as well as children’s, youth and adult ensembles from various countries. The festival creates an environment for cultural exchange and international cooperation, offering participants the opportunity to present their national traditions through dance, music and authentic costumes. During the three festival days, the city will transform into a stage for parades, concerts and official events that encourage the establishment of new partnerships and friendships among the ensembles. Ohrid, the host city, is one of the most significant cultural and spiritual centers in the Balkans. Mentioned as early as 879 AD, the city was the capital of Tsar Samuel’s state and the seat of the Ohrid Patriarchate. Today, together with Lake Ohrid, it is part of the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage. With over 2,400 years of history and its famous 365 churches, Ohrid is rightfully called the “Pearl of the Balkans.” The program includes an official welcome and meeting with the organizers, a guided sightseeing tour visiting Samuel’s Fortress, the Ancient Theatre, Plaoshnik and the Church of St. Kaneo, a festival parade and a gala evening. Participants will also have the option to join a cruise on Lake Ohrid with a visit to the museum and complex on the island of St. Naum. The closing ceremony will feature the awarding of certificates and gifts, exchange of souvenirs between ensemble leaders and a final festive event. The festival offers ensembles not only the opportunity to perform on an international stage, but also to experience the history, traditions and natural beauty of one of the most impressive cities in the region. Those wishing to participate may submit their applications now and take advantage of the early registration discount, securing their place in the festival program in spring 2026.
