Директор: Smaranda Oteanu-Bunea The International Folklore Festival for Children will be held for first time in Bucharest, Romania from the 27th of May till the 30th of May 2017 The main purpose of the festival is is to bring different cultures closer through dances, music and interesting national costumes , providing an opportunity for the members of groups to get together and create long lasting friendship. Organiser STELA POPESCU THEATER , the youngest Romanian public cultural institution subordinated to the General Council of Bucharest, a professional musical theatre company dedicated to offering high quality performing arts experiences to children, young audiences and their families. It is located in the southeast of the country, on the banks of the Dâmbovița River, less than 60 km (37.3 mi) north of the Danube River and the Bulgarian border. Bucharest was first mentioned in documents in 1459. It became the capital of Romania in 1862 and is the centre of Romanian media, culture, and art. Its architecture is a mix of historical (neo-classical),interbellum (Bauhaus and art deco), communist-era and modern. In the period between the two World Wars, the city's elegant architecture and the sophistication of its elite earned Bucharest the nickname of "Little Paris. Although buildings and districts in the historic city centre were heavily damaged or destroyed by war, earthquakes, and above all Nicolae Ceaușescu's program of systematization, many survived. In recent years, the city has been experiencing an economic and cultural boom. Conditions for participation: The International Folklore Festival for Children is a non-competitive festival of traditional and stylized music and dance. On the festival may participate children and youth folklore groups ( dance groups, vocal groups, instrumental groups and soloists) During the Festival each Group will have 1 or 2 performances – 15 min each, which will be organized in a closed Concert Hall ( a venue of 800 seats) where groups can perform either with live music or CD. NOTE: Each group must send us the music for the performance by email, 10 days before the festival starts. We will also request you to send a group profile – a short presentation and 2 pictures of the group (max 1 mb) Every Group will be rewarded with a Certificate for taking part on the Festival Each group should bring a flag of the country they represent Participation fee: 75 Euro per person The accommodation will be at Hotel IBIS BUCHAREST GARE DE NORD in double rooms for group leaders and triple/quadruple rooms for artists and support team. If the group shows interest in extending the stay the organizers should be informed during the application process and the price for extra night is 30 euro per person per day. Participation fee does not include: transport to and from Bucharest travel insurance additional days Transport and travel conditions: The participants should cover their travel expenses from their country to Bucharest and back. For the groups who arrive in Bucharest by plane, transfer to and from airport will be provided by Organization Committee. Approved groups pay in advance a 10% guarantee fee, which is to be deducted at the final payment. After the receipt of the guarantee fee to EAFF and advance payment of booking required by the organizers, the organizing team will send you official invitation for participation at the festival. Organizing team will also assist you in obtaining Visas if it is necessary.
