Delhi is the largest commercial centre in northern India. The National Capital Territory of Delhi has its own Legislative Assembly, Lieutenant Governor, council of ministers and Chief Minister. The people of Delhi are referred to as Delhiites or Dilliwalas. The city is referenced in various idioms of the Northern Indo-Aryan languages. Delhi's Culture at a Glance Delhi has been ruled by different kinds of the rulers that belong to different regions and thus follow their own tradition. This is the reason that the capital city of India has vast variety of the traditions and the culture with a different faith in every nook and corner of the city which means combination of ancient and modern beauty. New Delhi has been acting as host of different types of the cultures and this attracts more tourists towards this charming city. It enlightens the heart with every passing monuments, forts, markets, colorful people with mass diversity all around. The dilli walas are culturally and religiously incredibly united. That is why Delhi is one of the top places in the list of tourists and serving as the complete tourism hub for the visitors. Raj Ghat and associated memorials houses memorials of Mahatma Gandhi and other notable personalities. New Delhi houses several government buildings and official residences reminiscent of British colonial architecture, including the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the Secretariat, Rajpath, the Parliament of India and Vijay Chowk. Safdarjung's Tomb is an example of the Mughal gardens style. Some regal havelis (palatial residences) are in the Old City. Festival Description: IEFF-2016 is the second edition will be held on 13-18 October 2016. International Ethnic Folklore Festival is an initiative by Shrustii Multicultural Centre a Non Profitable Organization is a unique project, one-of-a-kind in the world of folklore dance and music. It is characterized by the unique format of the event, variety of folklore and performing features of dances, from all corners of the Globe, openness to the new, combination of entertainment and high artistic level of participants’ performance, where the dance and cultures of the World UNITE in the heart of India’s Capital New Delhi. International Ethnic Folklore Festival started its first edition-2015, in the heart of India’s Capital & Union territory New Delhi, City of Djinns. IEFF-INDIA is member of the European Association of Folklore Festivals. The concept of the festival-contest meets the actual world trends of folklore culture popularization. Particularly it corresponds with the initiatives of UNESCO that has called the world community to active promotion of dialog between cultures and generations through folk art. Project goals are creation of objective rating of folklore performers-improvisers, promotion of up-and-coming folklore performers and attraction of interest of national and foreign community to the Festival and its participants. The Festival is destined to answer for popularization of folklore culture and wide public recognition of performers talent. IEFF is a creative collision of dance performances, traditional music, workshops and discussions. It is vibrant and exciting festival offering a wide range of expertise from world-class folklore artists to impromptu performances on Indian Stages, which portray the ethnic ancestral traditions with royal costumes forming a unique cultural diversity thus enhancing the portfolio of the Festival providing a fun day out for people of all ages and walks of life. The Festival makes its authentic skill full and colourful presence with finest acts yearly during the August/September which connects audiences and artists from around the world, would also generate significant cultural, social and economic benefits to all countries participating in the festival by strengthening of mutual respect and tolerance & activation of creative contacts. The Festival showcases 10 International Folklore Ensembles with 5 National Ensembles. The festival will be a highlight of the New Delhi’s Cultural diversity and it expects an exceptional line up which brings over 400 artists together with the massive crowd over 10,000 to 20,000 patrons by hitting the biggest grounds & Auditoriums of New Delhi and NCR Regions. The Festival is providing a platform for outstanding artistic groups, to offer the audience a great diversity in countries and areas represented in the program and never forgetting to add some fun and unique identity to our cultural shows. We try to bring quality in depth, and we recognize the need to give our artists and audiences the best stages, in the best auditoriums, with the best sound and lighting possible. Our Festival is committed to provide international forum to the talent of New Delhi to all where art lovers would get an opportunity to explore different cultures under one roof and to enjoy the dances of various countries and provinces of India. The Festival will arrange some activities for the attending groups as the excursions to some of the local Historical Places. Preparing the Fun games and encourages groups to participate. Our folklore festival in the New Delhi area, promises to feature over 40 hours of entertainment in one week of cultural events. Conditions for participation: Admission to the Festival: Festival Organization will provide space to all folklore dancing groups and also equally to some of the Dancing/Musical groups who want to share our stage for their cultural project promotions, Dancing School / Academy Promotions, College/University Dance Group Promotions & Music Album Promotions. Festival Organization will select the best 10 groups from 4 corners of the World, who are requested to pay for the accommodation and Food thereby selecting the Accommodation packages of 170 Euros /250 Euros. Conditions: Festival is open to host all dancing and musical performance groups. Participants of the group should be 10-35 members. Participants of the Music Bands should atleast be 5. Participants of the group members should be 13+. Groups should get the Flight Tickets and Travel Insurance by their own. Official invitations will be sent to all groups as soon possible. Arrivals & Departures: The date of arrival for participants to New Delhi is on 13th, Oct. ( All the foreign groups should arrive in New Delhi Airport on 22nd of Sep by 12:00 hours. The departure time from New Delhi shall be started on 18th Oct by 12:00 hours afternoon. The participating groups shall arrive in New Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport, the SMC organization committee will arrange a coach to meet the foreign groups in the airport and escort them to the hotel. Travel Requirements: Each group should cover the travelling expenses of their international flight expenses for the round-trip. Every member of the group, has to have Travel Insurance which should include your medical and accidental coverage during the period of the festival. Extra expenses, such as expenses in the hotel for beverages, laundry, room service, long distance calls is not allowed to pay by the organization committee. Performance Details: The Group should perform 3 different folk dances with 10,15,20 minutes programs, each with live music 2 times a day at provided venues. Venues for performances will include open-air stages, theatres, halls, Auditoriums and scenic spots without special stage facilities or lighting equipment. Groups should attend the rehearsals on time. Group should provide 4 workshops in the festival Group should actively participate in the discussion forums The group has to take part in all programs, the festival organizers made it’s whole period and does not undertake any other performances, during the festival period they have no right to cancel any program without any approval from the Festival Committee. National costume of their state can be stylized Festival Rights: The festival reserves the right for radio-TV and video-recording, copy-right without paying any honorarium. The Festival organizing committee has the right to change the schedule of the program at any time during the festival. By applying you confirm that you accept all festival conditions.
